{Spoiler}{Spoiler}So to recap: they shot Aquaman 2 with a Michael Keaton cameo, only to change course with the intent of keeping Affleck on by replacing it with a cameo for him, and now that they're changing course AGAIN, there's probably going to be no Batman cameo at all?
Paraphrasing Keith David in Dead Presidents: That's Hollywood for you. Money to burn. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Correct. As of the most recent screening there is no Batman/Bruce Wayne at all in Aquaman 2.
Though if the rumours are accurate, and with today's news it seems they may be, Aquaman is being rebooted with a new cast and Momoa is going to be Lobo, so what does any of it matter? {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}So... Aquaman 2 could be an enormous bomb if all of this is true. Who is going to care about the movie if everything after it is going to be scrapped? Granted, DC seemed to be going with self contained movies instead of a universe in the past couple years so maybe I'm wrong. Who knows.

Aquaman 2 might have so much cut out of it, it's going to be the 21st century Quest For Peace

Never seen 84, so is it as bad as everyone says it is?

Never seen 84, so is it as bad as everyone says it is? By mid-1990s comic book movie standards it's okay. Unfortunately, it was released in 2020.

Wonder Woman 1984 is alright if you ignore the whole rape thing (which is a pretty big thing to ignore), but the opening is just completely interminable and really adds nothing to the movie, the movie's kind of a mess tonally, and a lot of stuff kind of just feels crammed in there because they needed an action beat or wanted to sell more toys.
It's not a bad movie really, if you're curious about it I'd see it, but I wouldn't go in really expecting anything at all like the first one. And I'd recommend completely fast-forwarding past the opening sequence on Themyscira, it's basically 20 minutes wasted on absolutely nothing beyond a very loose connection to the central theme of the movie that isn't really needing the setup.

Never seen 84, so is it as bad as everyone says it is? I wouldnt call it bad. It is too long and often boring. Not very exciting as a superhero movie. Villains boring. Watched it once, never felt the need to watch it again. Didnt hate it. Just kind of there.

Since it was a mid-quel everything that happened of Wonder Woman 84 got wished out of existence. You left the theatre thinking well that was kinda pointless. We know Black Widow dies in end game but at least Black Widow was kinda fun and set a few things up.
It would have been cool to see a WW solo adventure set in the present day but at this point I don’t see it happening with the current cast.
After next years slate in a post credit of Aquaman just kill the universe in some Crisis fashion. Show the ripple effects across multiple dimensions until it shakes the drink of someone at an intergalactic bar…
“Frag! What the hell was that!?”
It’s Jason Momoa now playing Lobo.
Then if they want they can bring back some of original DCEU actors back later in some sort of crisis event.
I don’t care what Flash resets they just need to start fresh after next year.

I f***ing hate this timeline. Oh man. Man oh man. I get it if they're just doing everything over again, but Michael Keaton Batman Beyond was a dream flick of mine. Ugh.

It's hard to feel bad for Jenkins when WW84 was her brainchild.
She's also one of the directors who has continually stamped their feet angrily and screeched because movie theaters closed during the pandemic.

I doubt the Batman Beyond movie would've been any good anyway, or bared much resemblance to the show, given how little previous attempts to integrate Beyond into other continuities have cared about having anything whatsoever to do with it beyond sometimes naming him Terry McGinnis.

See also: the stupid ass Future's End event in the comics. Ugh

I f***ing hate this timeline. It's worth noting that the original source states that no contracts had been signed, nor were any concrete plans even in place. It was more of an informal "Show us what you have in mind and maybe we'll talk some more." Without knowing exactly what Gunn has planned it's impossible to know if plans are totally shelved or if it will be revisited.

"what?" moments in it besides the first thing as well.

It's hard for me to like Batman Beyond outside of the original cartoon because the costume doesn't look good except when it's looks like the original, and so many of the new versions like the comics try to cram in Bruce Timm's fetish for Bruce being all over Barbara, which is super creepy in every universe.

Yeah, Tom King's run, however problematic on it's own, is a better ending for Bruce than Beyond.
