I can understand why.... he is probably the best heel of this generation and is probably among one of the best of all time already (not THE, yet... but already among). The main problem is... he may already have approached the point where the crowd won't boo him, unfortunately. Flair and Piper are perfect examples of guys that were so damn good as heels that eventually near the end of their carrers, the crowds just didn't want to boo them anymore.

he's turning/staying heel at Full Gear and it bums me out. Dude is a megastar ready to be more than just a pro wrestling champion imo. Dude is made for late night TV appearances, media events, red carpets, super bowl parties etc.. . he doesn't need to be all goodie goodie either. He can still be MJF, just more of an asshole to heels than faces lol
The would be a gigantic Vince like whiff if the don't hit well the iron is hot imo.

If he goes heel again, no more teasing a turn and no more sad stories. You don’t want to stop the crowd from caring when he does turn face because it’s been teased so often.

Yeah, it comes off as a tricky split in the road. The man’s made his mark by being such a great heel. But it also feels the natural culmination is him becoming a popular anti-hero/tweener in the vein of The Rock. I think they have to go with it. It’s also kind of important because he’s a (for the most part) homegrown talent that has transcended into a bonafide star and Main Eventer. Post scrumgate, I think the importance of that might trump his commitment to being a Heel. Also, look at the other company - “The Guy” has been a Heel for a minute now.

If they hadn't done the exact same thing of teasing a face turn with both Jamie Hayter and Daniel Garcia recently, then I wouldn't mind them doing it with MJF. As it stands, though, it'd be bloody awful if they do have the swerve at Full Gear.

He can be an uber-heel without having to go back to the Firm. The beatdown can have been legit and not a swerve but MJF still goes full on heel during or even after the match. It says a lot about my confidence in him that I think whatever they give him to do he'll make work.

I think the issue about turning face for MJF is that he can be the top heel easily enough. Top face is difficult to secure and keep.

How dare you steal my thread title
I am still principally against this character ever going face, but the way they are doing it is pretty great

My only concern is that like the other times its a swerve which will give him heat but if he does ever turn face no one will care as much. or if its a swerve people might not care about it simply cause hes done it so many times

Great go-home promo. It’s the match I’m most looking forward to for Full Gear.

Since MJF doesn't want to be a full-fledged babyface, I wonder if he would be fine with being a tweener instead.

I think Regal turns on Mox and aligns with MJF at Full Gear; I dunno if it makes either heel though. They'll still be cheered cause they're MJF and Regal. I can't think of much else they can do to keep him heel without feeling really hokey.

Regal with MJF seems a waste of both. Max certainly doesn't need a manager or a mouthpiece and with Regal gone the Blackpool Combat Club doesn't exist anymore.

I feel like they're wanting this to be their Corporate Rock moment to make MJF a bigger heel, but I really, really think they need to give it up and just accept MJF is babyface.

I think BCC is on borrowed time but I don’t know about the Regal/MJF pairing idea. I feel like they're wanting this to be their Corporate Rock moment to make MJF a bigger heel, but I really, really think they need to give it up and just accept MJF is babyface. Maybe. Most likely. They really need to stack the card against a face-MJF or else it won’t work.

The interesting thing about this match is that there's two pretty predictable looking swerves on the cards so trying to decide which one they go with makes it spin back round to being unpredictable. Or hell, maybe they go with neither and it's just a regular clean match.
I think they've been pretty heavy handed with the RegaL/MJF stuff in the build to this match so Regal going heel and slipping MJF the brass knucks to win wouldn't be a shock.
And The Firm still being in cahoots with MJF seems fairly obvious for MJF's character. Like look at the effort he was putting in while taking them out last night. You can totally imagine MJF telling them "okay, I'll give you the weakest looking clotheslines and low blows ever, pretend you're dead and that idiot Moxley will buy that we're not still together."

I’m fine with a face MJF if they’ve got some damn good heels/challengers lined up for him because he’ll need them. Maybe elevate Swerve, there’s Joe, PAC, or Omega even still as a face. He’s got a history with Jericho, potential excitement there. But yeah, it just seems so easy IMO for Stokley or Regal to help screw Mox over and Maxwell takes the title.
Then I see them barring any injury or incidents, AEW runs with a MJF boss reign until maybe either a Hangman, Starks or Jungle Boy or someone they’re high on knocks him off.

MJF was talking alot about Regal/knocouts and no ring needed..interesting.
Even had a line too Moxley like
"..when I knock your lights clean out you out! NO Dynamite diamond ring necessary....***walks to Regal** "AIN'T THAT RIGHT WILL!"!

I'm confident Regal aligns with MJF at Full Gear. Like, willing to eat an item of clothing if it doesn't happen confident.

I'm concerned about where they will take this. I don't want MJF to turn face and I'm not sure about Regal turning heel. I'm getting serious SCSA at 'Mania 17 vibes. I hope I'm wrong.
