We even shared a birthday.

That's the bitch about suicide...the people most at risk are completely undetectable because they're typically so positive and upbeat. And JDF absolutely was. Whereas some others would try to hide it out of shame and/or embarrassment, he embraced his Power Rangers past fully and openly. He was proud of the impact he had on kids of my generation and tried to make every fan experience as special as he possibly could. Wish I'd had a chance to meet him. RIP Jason.

One of my 3 childhood heroes. I just can't believe it.

Met him once to get his autograph and he was the coolest dude I had talked to that day. It was late in the day and I'm sure he'd had to talk to a ton of fans and yet he hadn't lost his smile or enthusiasm. He was a special guy from all accounts and I hope there is some solace that he will be so missed.

This one really hits me hard. I've been a huge PR fan for years and hearing that we lost such an icon is heart breaking. RIP JDF.

The Jason David Frank news is so, so unbelievably sad. He embraced his work on Power Rangers and the convention culture long before it was widely "acceptable" and always had time and positive energy for every single fan.
I've had a real hard time getting out of bed today. So glad I got to interview him twice, tell him what he meant to me and share a bit of his energy.

I think it’s worth nothing that JDF was a *deeply* religious man. He had a huge “JESUS DIDN’T TAP” among his many tattoos. So for him to take his own life, he must have been hurting very, very badly.
Please talk to someone if you're dealing with those kinds of thoughts. There's help out there and it's open to you. Dial 988 for the hotline, to speak to someone

As we remember JDF as Tommy, what were everyone's favorite scenes with him?
My top 3 by far were:
1. When he returns and everyone has disappeared in the Return of an old Friend Part 1. Man, when Jason gave Tommy back the Green Ranger Coin, as a kid I marked the hell out. He got redemption as the Green Ranger.
2. Returning as the White Ranger. It was still great, even though I was a Green Ranger fan all the way. Him being the leader was pretty cool.
3. All his cameos after Turbo and comebacks. There's too many to choose from, but I loved all his cameos past Turbo.

Also, this was the last video I saw of JDF from earlier this year. I always wondered what he was up to in 2022. Seeing this video then and what has happened now, is just heartbreaking man.

Just doesn’t add up man, dude looked like he was enjoying life, helping people out, enjoying interacting with fans, just a very humble person, hard to imagine he was dealing with depression? Had suicidal thoughts? who knows, mental health is a very frightening thing to deal with. Really sad. Rest in Power to a true childhood hero

Everyone and anyone can get sad when things are bad, but to be that absolutely that deep in despair when from the outside you have every reason to smile - that's the danger of mental illness. He had been having a rough past 12 months though. His step-daughter, who he by the accounts I've seen he was very close with, committed suicide last year and over the summer he went through a divorce that was allegedly not on the most amicable of terms.

I know Frank was deeply religious, but old interviews confirmed it was the same wife that divorced him that got him into his faith too.

This hits hard as a Power Ranger fan growing up and he being my favorite one. This is one of those cases that you never know what anybody is going through. This does remind me of Robbin Williams. All the videos from Comic Cons and interviews he does. He always had this positive outlook on things. He seemed to always have this energy and was nice to everyone who meet him. So sad. RIP DJF.
