Just a heads up is that TMZ have updated with more information, I'm not going to share for the time being as emotions are still raw, but suffice to say JDF's wife's instagram is getting hammered by trolls at the moment blaming her for what happened.

I got about 15 seconds into Amy Jo’s video before I had to turn it off. My heart absolutely breaks for her.
David Yost shared a tribute on social media a few hours ago. I hope that’ll dispel some of the stuff going around about JDF being some kind of life-long homophobe.
This one freaking hurts. He was one of the first “celebrities” I kind of related to as a kid. I was about 10 years old when MMPR came out and it hooked me. I don’t think I’d ever learned the names of actors playing characters on TV before that. When he went from being credited as “Jason Frank” in season 1 to “Jason David Frank” in subsequent seasons, that was a big topic of conversation amongst the kids at school.
He was pretty much my generation’s Adam West.
It just sucks. I really wanted him to have the same weird career trajectory that Adam West did. Like, when he popped up as the head of Fortress Maximus in the Machinima Transformers show, I thought he was well on his way to that.
A few months ago, a friend who manages a comic store in the US sent me something signed by JDF. I guess there was some promotion or something they worked on together, and since she knew I was a fan, she posted it all the way over here.
He’ll be missed

I can't watch any of these videos because my hyperempathy goes off around suicide (speaking from personal experience.)
I just hope Jason is at peace now. 😔

Apparently he was a contestant on The Price Is Right in 1992?

I think people assumed he was homophobic because of his religious beliefs. But I've never heard of him being homophobic. He seemed to be one of those people who walked the walk in terms of compassion and kindness instead of using his religion as a mask for hate. Yost had a hell of a time overcoming his own internalized homophobia before accepting and loving himself. Poor guy's been through it.

When I was a kid, I took karate lessons from the dude who allegedly trained him. I tried sticking it out cause we were told we’d eventually get to meet him. I ended up dropping and it was legit one of my biggest regrets ever. Watching all the old footage the last day or so, and peoples reactions, it’s clear he touched a lot of people and was woven into an infinite amount of childhoods and fandoms. I think he knew that judging by several bits and pieces of his the last 10-20 years. I hope he is at peace. Around 1999 or 2000 he did a karate seminar at the karate school I went to. He was doing autographs afterwards but the charge was $15. Probably was what my school was charging to get back his appearance fee. I think it was $20 for the seminar too which was super reasonable. I had a green and white ranger on the cards but at that point never paid for autographs, really didn't even know paying for autographs was a thing, so didn't want to get them signed. I also seem to recall a pretty big line. Of course, I regretted it afterwards. I became an autograph collector big time around mid 2000 and then knew paying for autographs was a thing. I remember in 94 when I first found out what Rangers was the green was the hardest to find. Around 96-97 I think the newer releases were easier to find. This is a real shame. There's not much to say because so much has been said already. It always seems like the ones who have so much passion for life and people on the surface are hurting the most.

I remember him once calling out Bryan Cranston for what he considered homophobic comments (and Cranston’s response was perfect). I think there were a bunch of assumptions made in response to to David Yost’s vague comments about enduring constant homophobia from members of the cast and crew of the show. A few years back, I shared a list of celebrities I’d have difficulty believing allegations about. JDF was one of them. Jack Black and the Rock were the other two.

I can't really add much to the thread that hasn't been said
but when I met him a couple of years ago, there was kids in front of me in the queue and he was cool and patient with them, guess I'm trying to say that will be one of my main remaining impressions of him
RIP

It seemed like the bulk of the comments came from crew. If JDF was one of them, I don't think Yost would've remained good friends with him. I don't think any of the cast gave him crap for it, actually.

Yea i read the latest information, it would be wise of her to get off of all social media for a while sadly. I won't speculate or anything in regards to that. But I am very sad he is no longer with us, loved him as a kid. R.I.P. green/white ranger (and the other one's he portrayed after I stopped watching)

Just like to say in regards to the show, the character Tommy started evil, Tommy realized all the damage he had done and felt terrible, but Jason assured him it was only because of Rita's spell. Tommy accepted the Rangers' offer to join them. With the Dragonzord on their side, he became part of the team. As the battles increased, Tommy became closer to the team and formed friendships with them. He admired Zack's sense of fun, Trini's dedication, and Billy's intelligence. He also had a crush on Kimberly and they eventually started dating. And then when Rita tried absorb his powers he transferred it to Jason and that did a good job to save him and defeat Rita's forces. And for that he is the coolest Ranger of all, Burai the original green ranger should be proud of him.

Tommy shared a similar journey to a favorite Final Fantasy character of mine: Cecil. Started out as a darker character unwittingly working for the bad guys. Eventually saw the errors of their ways but still had the borrowed dark power. Eventually, they atoned for their past misdeeds and got their own, wholly good power. Tommy became the White Ranger and Cecil a Paladin.
Granted Tommy was under a spell when he was evil, so that's more Kain-like. But he and Cecil shared that journey of atonement and redemption.

This was intended as a critique/roasting of Super Megaforce's finale, but spends most of it's run time as a eulogy.
