It looks like this is going to be going the opposite route that Night Court did. Night Court isn’t like…great or anything but it does have one fascinating thing to tune in for. John Larroquette playing a beloved character decades later, having lost loved ones, friends and connection to the world he knew. Literally fighting on the other side of the law because life changed him so much.
This is like…member these guys? They’re basically the same…only you’ll see way less of them. Don’t you love it!

Early thoughts… Like That 70s Show, Red and Kitty are the best parts of the show. Like That 80s Show, they lean a bit too hard on the time period references.

I am not sure how much I'll watch this, but I am not upset by it existing or anything.
This is sort of like a victory lap, and that's fine with me. If it finds an identity, wonderful, but if not, it probably goes 2 seasons and peters out.

Also if the dad spent the '80s shooting cops in Detroit, this may end up amazing. That wouldn't have been the 80's. Robocop was set in the future.

I’m actually enjoying this way more than I thought I would. Obviously it’s not on the same level as the original show but it’s still fun and doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard. I love seeing Red and Kitty as grandparents.

Haven't watched yet, but a buddy of mine described it as "harmless fun that doesn't dishonor the original"

I despise the hair they put on Topher Grace. It was not a hairstyle from the 90's at all, even on middle aged men.

I liked the first episode well enough, though that may just be nostalgia carrying things. We'll see how the whole season is, but it seems, at worst, like harmless fluff.

I figure they would get it out of the way sooner, so did they acknowledge what happened to Hyde?

I think it’s fine enough. I knew from when it was announced it’d be more focused on the kids.
The kids are fine but don’t have the electric chemistry that the original gang had from episode 1. Overall I’m not disappointed in it. It’s way better than Fuller House was

It’s fine. The best part is I still love Red!

Meh, the show got all meta and Red is a parody of himself. That 70's show was a bit risque with its humor and outside of stand-up comedians, no one is willing to push the envelope anymore.
