A similar case was something Tenshi just said. They aren't not similar cases, you cannot put Punk in the same scenario as Conor in any capacity because he's nowhere near that level of piece of shitness. They’re both violent douchebags who’ve skated by consequence-free by their promoters, and actually rewarded for it due to their name value. I see it. I ain’t saying Phil’s worse but I see a comparison. ONE OF THEM IS A RAPIST. There's no f***ing comparison, I'm so sick of this shit. Punching a coworker is not the same, there's no comparison. |

I have to question how violent Punk actually is as a person, this is the only time I've ever heard of him being in a physical altercation with anyone, he's mostly verbal, all mouth even And most of the violence had in that scrumgate was from Ace Steel, I think Punk did land a punch though... Conor meanwhile, is NOTORIOUS for being so violent he couldn't even do a staged fight with the Mascot right, and just knocked them out cold... Yeah. Your point actually makes me realize both being mentally unwell can be argued as well. Punk I dont think is mentally unwell, but he has his reservations and opinions and is very stubborn in how he feels about them because of how they effected his personal life Conor meanwhile, yeah, can't speak for his mental validity, but normal people don't allegedly trap a woman in a bathroom with the help of his bouncers for a sexual assault... |

Feels like Punk will face MJF at All In or All Out once he is done with Ricky, its interesting that MJF is still face(for now)... All Out is in Chicago. They're probably gonna have MJF/Cole at All In, then MJF/Punk at All Out. And then there's a good chance that they're gonna try and give Punk his home town "coronation" moment AGAIN, because TK is a money mark for Pepsi Phil.
Well, MJF brought up the Bidding War of 2024 in the Post Collision segment, if MJF is staying face then Punk is likely winning at All Out then MJF regains the title the week when his contract expires?

I don't know how others see it but, to me, that kind of consequences tell me that people can be "above the law" and do whatever they want if they're a big enough draw. A similar case would be Conor McGregor in the UFC, getting special treatment by getting extra sponsorship money, he gets to fight Floyd Mayweather in boxing with ZUFFA co-promoting (something Dana White is straight-up against under other circumstances) and always being within reach of a title shot because he's a big draw, rankings and other fighters trying to earn their way up the ladder be damned. Honestly this shit is the crux of what pisses me off about the Punk stuff and how's it talked about here. Conor has been accused of sexual assault many, many times while assaulting random people in the street unprovoked and being a consistent racist asshole. Punk got into essentially a backstage fight in a high testosterone environment with a bunch of other adults. It's not a good thing, but the framing of abusive language towards him is ridiculous. Well... If things worked the way they should, Conor should be in jail for assault to rape but he always finds a way to sneak his way out of trouble. Then again, Becky Lynch basing "The Man" on him is always... uncomfortable to look at if you know about the source material. My point was that both Conor and Punk tend to get treated more than well by the promoter while not receiving much resistance within the promotion itself. Besides that, Conor is a straight up asshole that gives Jon Jones a run for his money when it comes to being the worst guy employed by the UFC while Punk goes from passive-aggressive to self-righteous within the world of pro wrestling but is usually a law abiding citizen outside of it. |

Punk shouldn't be winning the title at all. He's proven that he can't be trusted with the top spot, half the main eventers in the company don't want to deal with him, and he does nothing but sow dissent in the fanbase. Plus, remember how he keeps saying that he's here to "put over the young talent"? Yet the only person in the ENTIRE company who has a positive win/loss record against Punk is Ricky Starks, and 1. he had to cheat to win, and 2. Punk is gonna get his win back next week (LOLPunkWins). If he's actually serious about putting over young talent, and he's not just blowing smoke up people's asses to make himself look better, then he shouldn't beat MJF. |

My opinion: This thread sucks. The hot takes suck. The digging for every little thing you can to hate on something sucks. Constantly trying to compare one guy to another because of their promoter's use of them sucks. Trying to label people with mental illness as an insult to them sucks and is degrading to people with the illnesses. The fact 50% don't watch the shows but bitch about them sucks.
I should lock this but at this point it seems better to let the idiocy stew in one thread then infect the whole board. Plus a bunch of you were complete bitches when the last one was locked and I don't feel like going through that again.

FAN is a healthy community with a healthy relationship between its staff and its userbase and all problems are solved through this path. Why address problems or clean up things you don't want on your board when you can just flashbang the community with hostility every hundred or so pages instead?

TBH I think the thread being locked this time is a lot more justifiable than last time. The last thread was mostly fun silly stuff that got completely derailed by one or two bad faith posters. This one has just become doomposting and hyperbolic negativity to the point of absurdity.
Not like this thread being around has, unfortunately, kept the sewage from seeping into other threads, either.
