Writeup is from PW Insider:
Michael Mansury, the former Vice President of Global Television Production for WWE, has been hired by AEW and will start at tomorrow's AEW Dynamite taping. We are told he was backstage at the Full Gear PPV a few weeks back as well, but he is now officially with the company. Mansury's official title is Senior Vice President & Co-Executive Producer for AEW This is a big backstage hire for the company.
Mansury was with WWE from March 2009 through May 2020. He was hired there initially as a Production Assistant, rising through the ranks as Associate Producer, Producer and then Managing Producer of WWE before being elevated to his Vice President role in March 2016. In that position, Mansury had been the Director of record for many of the WWE PPV and TV productions in recent years.
When he departed WWE several years ago, he was seen as a big part of the Triple H regime. Some in the company at the time had dubbed him unofficially as the "next" Kevin Dunn, with the idea was that he would one day fill Dunn's role down the line, which obviously did not happen. When Mansury gave notice that he was leaving WWE, there were a number of people at the time that were shocked.
After leaving WWE, Mansury worked as an Executive Producer for Pat McAfee before moving on to work as Senior Vice President & Executive Producer - Global Production for the ONE MMA promotion. He left there last month.

Sounds like a very good hire. AEW's production has definitely gotten a lot better than it was when they started but it can still be pretty amateurish sometimes.

That's pretty much the definition of, "By every measure this is a solid and important hiring decision, of the kind where fans will probably notice nothing if it turns out well."

Yeah this is a great hire. Someone to sure up the little production hiccups AEW can still have is always a good thing, and the dude has a ton of experience

Oh shit, please don't let the cameracuts be like Kevin Dunn.
If he can bring the good bits from WWE and learn from Dunn's flaws then it's all good.
NXT wasn't as bad as the main roster so hopefully it'll be the later.

I was wondering who that guy was. Renee Paquette is really good friends with him and she shared a lot of pictures with him backstage at Full Gear. Guess he wasn't just visiting a friend but getting a feel for the place before officially getting hired.

Very true. Not missing things the wrestlers are telegraphing would be an instant improvement. Eg Samoa Joe hitting Wardlow with the belt.

Ok, cool, so Mike: you don't have a son you're looking to work with in WWE, do you? MM: ...not that I'm aware of. Why do you ask? TK: Oh, it's nothing, nothing at all. Just sign here on this 'no-option-to-exit-the-contract-if-Triple-H-comes-into-power clause' and let's get down to business! MM: Is that standard? TK: It is, now!

The thread title had my fingers crossed for an experienced booker. Are there any even available who aren't creatively tapped (Delirious) or ancient and likely out of touch with the audience they'd be booking for (Cornette, Dutch Mantell, etc)?

I think WWE let their head of creative go a few months back.

I have no clue who's available. Maybe someone like Raven? Throw as much money as necessary to steal Gabe? I'm glad I'm not the one in charge of figuring it out. I do think someone like Dutch working with TK for a healthy balance of traditional booking and current audience perception could maybe work though. Definitely not someone like Dutch alone though.

This is what Fightful had to report:
AEW made a big hire in the form of Mike Mansury.
Mansury announced his return to wrestling as a Senior VP & Co-Executive Producer for AEW. He previously served as VP of Global TV Production for WWE. He's been around AEW shows for the last several weeks at least, but this hire is even bigger than many realize on the surface.
When the Triple H regime took over, many asked if Kevin Dunn would also be on his way out. When we asked within WWE, we were repeatedly told that the one person who seemed poised to replace him had left the company, and they didn't think they would be able to get him back. Until today, that person went nameless, until the Mansury hire was revealed, and WWE sources indicated to us that it was Mansury. We're told that in WWE, there wasn't much further he could go above where he'd been unless Kevin Dunn stepped aside, which did not end up happening.
Another source indicated that he was a name that they thought Triple H would try to bring back to the company, and that Triple H seemed keen on his work. They said that they didn't think Mansury would come back unless he was taking over Kevin Dunn's role, and Dunn still hasn't budged from his spot.
We've already heard from talent and staff within both AEW and WWE who were happy about the hiring, and believe that it will go a long way in helping AEW's content. One WWE source said that he's a good hire specifically because he's more in touch with AEW's demographic, and can significantly increase the level of production the company has. One WWE source that heavily criticizes AEW to us, said that he saw this as AEW's biggest hire this year.
