#490 - The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Tubi)
*1st Viewing
Took me like half of the movie to realize that was Guy Pearce. This had a ton of heart to it and I really liked it. [****]
#491 - Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Hulu)
*1st Viewing
The first of the Ice Age franchise that I've never seen. It's another solid yet unspectacular entry. [***]

117. The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958) 118. Good Burger 2 (2023) 119. Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977)Another find on YouTube that I've been meaning to watch for a few weeks now. Despite "The New Addams Family" name, this 70's TV movie has nothing to do with the 90's ABC Family sitcom. It is instead a reunion of the cast from the original 60's TV show. Although I'm guessing John Astin's availability was limited for this as there is some strange segregation of characters throughout most of the movie and for its first half we only ever see him directly interact with Carolyn Jones. For those not familiar, it's Halloween and Gomez is afraid that his place in the family is being usurped by his brother, Pancho, and also some thieves are trying to rob the Addam's house. Honestly any plot this movie might have is unimportant as it's really just 74 minutes of random antics and repeated worn out gags. It's not quite as bad as Rob Zombie's Munsters, but it's still pretty incoherent and really boring.

118. Good Burger 2 (2023) 119. Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977) 120. The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart (2023)So even though I initially signed up to the wrong streaming service by mistake, HBO Max was having a Black Friday sale so I threw in for that as well. Now I finally get to watch the Venture Bros. movie. Ah Venture Bros. The only adult animated series that's kept me consistently entertained for its entire multi-decade existence. Really great movie. Filled in a lot of holes and answered a lot of questions. I really hope this isn't the end of the franchise, but if it is it is an enjoyable way to go out.

Searching - John Cho is a dad trying to find his missing teenage daughter and Debra Messing is the girlboss cop helping him. Not as cliched as it sounds there's a few twists and it's an engaging whodunit and whydunit. Every shot is from the POV of a character looking at a computer or phone screen which is better than it sounds. Most importantly at 1 hr 50 mins it's the right length for a cheeky beer or three before bedtime watch. 8/10.

#492 - May December (Netflix)
*1st Viewing
In an absolutely gripping movie featuring GREAT performances by Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, it's wild that Charles Melton of Riverdale fame steals the show. I smell an Oscar nom. [****½]
#493 - Spirited (Apple TV+)
*1st Viewing
A musical twist on A Christmas Carol should've been fantastic for me but somehow there are little to no bops on this soundtrack despite coming from the guys who did La La Land and The Greatest Showman. [**½]
#494 - Wish (Theater)
*1st Viewing
My thoughts listening to the soundtrack: Ariana DeBose did the thing. [***]
#495 - Barbie (4K Blu-Ray)
*3rd Viewing
My wife finally watched this. Loved the first half but didn't like the ending. That is the weakest part to me but I still think this is stellar. [*****]
#496 - Daisy Jones and the Six (Prime)
*1st Viewing
I don't like most of the changes made from the bok (which I loved) but they mostly nailed this otherwise. The casting is on point, the music is phenomenal, the vibe is perfect, and the performances are top notch. [****½]

119. Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977) 120. The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart (2023) 121. The Naughty Nine (2023)Despite sounding like the title of a porn movie, this is a Disney+ original movie that showed up on the service recently. For those not familiar, Andy is a kid who's been unjustly placed on Santa's naughty list. To rectify this, he recruits a team of seven other naughty listers, and an adult pilot, to raid Santa's Workshop Ocean's Eleven-style and reclaim the gifts that were denied to them. So I really like the premise of the movie, and it does have its moments, but over-all I was kinda disappointed. Honestly, I think it was a mistake to aim this movie at such a young audience. If you had done this idea as an adult movie, or even as an older teen movie, then I think the jokes would've been a little edgier, the action would've been a little wilder, it wouldn't have had to worry about everybody learning their lesson and teaching a "moral", and over-all it would all have just worked a little better. Plus, they completely wasted the pilot.

I remember wanting to see the 2006 version because I had a crush on Michelle Trachtenberg. Decided to finally check out the series and started with the highly touted original, which lived up to the hype. Genuinely scary with some brilliantly crafted scenes. [****]

The Bloody Fists-WB DVD
Standard 70s Martial Arts movie. Stranger shows up in village. Village that is the only source for the dragon weed that prevents a deadly virus that is all over. Evil warlords want this weed. So Stranger fights them.
Average at best. The WB dvd is a double feature with Moonlight Sword and Jade Lion. Both are badly dubbed and beat the hell up prints. that are non anamorphic letterboxed. So get that TV remote out and figure out how to have more than a stick of gum sized image in the dead middle of your big tv.
6.5 Bloody Fists out of 10

163. Thinner - Watched this on Max. I don't know why I had been in the mood for this film, even though I have a weird relationship with it. I mean, I remember not liking it when I first watched it, and then I watched a long time after and was more like "eh, it's okay, I guess." I suppose my opinion still stands with it, but I still see some issues and some elements are a bit cheesy about it. For example, the prosthetics used for Robert John Burke, especially when his character was overweight. When his character was emaciated, the makeup effects looked less cheesy, except for maybe when he was too skinny.
As for anything else, I am still a little confused about some parts of the story, especially the main character's issue with his wife. However, a lot of characters in this film were unlikable, except for maybe Richie Ginelli, the mobster. But of course, Joe Mantegna was good in that role. So I couldn't complain.
It's not a good movie, but I've been like "eh, I could watch it."

Another classic that I can see it's everything people say it is, and admire the details, but it's not something I'll watch again I think, fabulous parts, just not quite clicking for me.
