Yeah, Miz is where he needs to be. He's won every title multiple times over and at this point in his career should be helping to get guys over. He can basically work with anyone as seen how him and Ciampa was gelling really well before he left with an injury He's only 42 but yeah he doesn't need a major gimmick change or overhaul. Hell, if I am HHH I am trying to convince in the next year or two to do some more backstage stuff to get him thinking about life outside the ring I'd almost want to experiment and put Miz on commentary on NXT (Booker's a bit to "wild" in his commentary for my personal tastes, especially with stars that are still being built). When he’s retired, he needs to be the authority figure.

I’m kind of curious why they have Becky still slumming it with Damage CTRL. She should be doing something more high profile IMO. Also kind of curious that there were no Charlotte sightings, maybe Nia punched her out backstage. lol Yeah this feud isn’t working. The way Becky was used here, sucked quite frankly. I get the idea behind it. But Damage CTRL still feel like a cold act and now all they’re doing is cooking Becky off as well. Something needs to change and soon.

Miz can basically be anything he puts his mind to Commentator, Manager etc... He damn sure not ready to retire yet but like Joe, you test it out and see how it goes and if he is that good you just run with it Tho I see Miz being a manager like MVP.

HHH is way better than Vince, but sometimes his eye for talent is questionable.

I'd almost want to experiment and put Miz on commentary on NXT (Booker's a bit to "wild" in his commentary for my personal tastes, especially with stars that are still being built). When he’s retired, he needs to be the authority figure. I'd fear they slip him into an evil authority role, and we could use another decade without that. Pearce may be seen as ineffective in some ways on the show, but at least he seems to be level-handed most times (like the tag substitutes situation, and how he gave that to the Usos even if he did have problems with them show-raiding like they did). Unless Miz can balance it out to be more like Bischoff's GM run when he had grey hair where he seemed more balanced than with black hair, I wouldn't want to see that slipping in.

You always want to be careful with guys who you want to give rub to younger guys, you need to ensure they still have rub to give. Otherwise they become like Mick Foley, who I love, but at a certain point, what good was beating him when he basically never won. He's never been a high win percentage guy tho Once again, he's not doing anything diff than he was doing before. He has always lost way more than he has won but he picks up key wins and his mic skills make him more than credible

And Jericho had a problem recently when he was winning too much because his character didn't need it No, you should not lose every match but when you have their ability to get over on the mic and their character work, them losing isn't the end of the character and they sell the losses as well

Roman's reign, tee-hee, is interesting in that it's been too long, plain and simple, but there's been some really great bits in there. It's definitely a title reign that's going to look amazing in some video packages and retrospectives someday, but the pacing is a mess.
Sami and Owens getting the tag titles would be great revenge, but I do sort of feel like Cody may get the WWE title, and Sami getting the Universal, if they're doing a 2-night Mania again, or even if they didn't, Sami getting the Universal at Summerslam.

Which is fine because a feature of her previous run was very few TV matches. Since she went to Smackdown in October 2021, she had eight TV matches in seven months, and three of those matches were five minutes or less.

Speaking of Deville (spoilered for graphic injury): {Spoiler} Lots of stitches likely for a big cut above the eyebrow, likely from the double kick spot with Asuka soon after she came into the match (after that you see Piper Niven rush over to check on her, as she’s doing the next bunch of spots with her).

How great is it that we actually have a crop of over, legit top star babyfaces on the roster right now.
Difference a year makes, man.

There is still a lot left to be done, but there's been progress. Not a babyface, exactly, but Rhea's been rehabbed very well from where she was and has a lot of momentum, which is nice.

They’ve built up a good amount of names who are credible. Like you said, jobs not done but we’re in a way better position than last year where Brock was legit the only guy credible enough to face Roman

So while I sadly was unable to partake in this zany live thread , I can atleast finally give my little ole thoughts.
Mens rumble was by far the best match and Gunther is a made f***ing man that I will be absoloutley flabergasted if he is not WWE/Universal champion by this time next year or atleast winning it at Mania next year after he also wins the rumble.
Womens rumble was solid but it lost something when Dmg Cntrl and Becky got eliminated because they were providing an energy that no one else was IMO and I loved how they never stopped fighting even after they got ousted from the match and things just became sloggish.
Did not like that Kana f***ing returned in epic fashion only to lose...they better have something worthwile for her to do otherwise IMO they f***ed up here...I know a loud contingent are all for Rhea but Asuka completely overshadowed her and everyone else.....and I go back to history here this is what happens to Rhea every single time...she looks set to be this big supposed star and when she is right there someone comes and overshadows it and this time it was the return of Kana because once she got eliminated it felt a bit deflating....and also apparently people have been claiming Rhea's feet did infact touch the floor when she was hanging on and Liv was trying to eliminate her in clear obvious view...so idk if that is gonna come into play but could throw an interesting wrench into things.
Bianca Vs Alexa f***ing sucked sorry to say this was not only the least interesting match but these two have negative chemistry.
The main event was everything everyone wanted and now they are gonna pull the reverse at elimination chamber with Jey being the Sami role in the build up...Sami gets the title shot only for Jey to stanb him in the back and screw him during the match and prove his loyalty to the chief....only for KO to make the save and reunite his friendship with Sami and setting up the tag title match at Mania.
If anyone doubted HHH before while not perfect IMO this should absoloutley quell the majority of those doubts because this was MILES and miles better than the last couple of Vince centricly booked Rumbles....8 outta 10 show.

Yeah I only finished it about an hour ago and I was really pleasantly surprised. I was playing a game at the same time so the bad matches didn't feel too bad. I definitely paid more attention during the rumbles and they were really well done. I've mentioned it in a few places but everyone had something to do. Character histories mattered. Friendships mattered. Feuds mattered. There are also a bunch of new possibilities arising from these rumbles. I actually kinda liked Becky and Damage CTRL going out when they did because it felt like it opened the whole thing up. At one point I genuinely had no idea who was going to win (though I figured it would probably be Rhea). Gunther was fantastic, especially in the final 2. The story with the bloodline was great and every played their parts tremendously.
A lot of people got a chance to shine tonight and show the crowd something. There were few if any dead moments in the rumbles, everything just had a great flow.
Well there was one genuinely terrible thing tonight...that Hardy performance.
I also gotta say, normally I can't stand Corey Graves but he was pretty good tonight, the whole team was really good. The shut up when they should, had a blast and sometimes made some great points. I really enjoyed when Corey went on a rant about people who stop others from eliminating someone and how it makes zero sense. THANK YOU! I just thanked Corey Graves. I feel kinda dirty.
Seriously though, great show.
