Guessing his final test is winning the rumble....from 1.
He makes it to the final 3 along with Jey and Cody.
He "accidently" kicks Jey which eliminates him and Cody then eliminates Sami.

my only beef with this is: whoever wins on night one, I feel, takes away from whoever wins on night two if Cody beats Roman in a big epic match or Sami beats Roman in a wild schmozz with KO, Uso and Solo interference, then on night two, whoever goes second, their win won't feel as big because they'll be facing an already weakened Roman. I think it's how you tell the story, though. You have a weakened Roman but you also have a more desperate Roman, seeing his influence fading and down, he goes to different lengths to retain his last singular belt and you build the match around that. Even having segments where he snaps at the Bloodline for not helping him enough night one, stuff like that. This character almost begs for that legal of complete insecurity and breakdown. With how long Roman has been totally in control and no meaningful opposition has been able to get through, having him lose only sets him up to actually experience the setback that lets him tell a different story in night two. Therein leaves plenty of other opportunities for someone to do something else to Roman or look good by say actually making Roman genuinely afraid for a minute.

I feel like Cody would be more likely to beat Roman clean, so maybe it works better if he beats him night one. Then on night two you have a more crazed, back against the wall Roman, lashing out at the Usos (maybe for losing on night one?) and Solo. Then in the main event, Roman realizes he can't beat Sami on this night, so he plays to his emotions. Failing that, he calls on the Usos and Solo. Maybe Jey turns on Jimmy, causing Roman to look to Solo, who in turn, turns on Roman, allowing Sami to pick up the win Maybe work KO in there somewhere but something along those lines could work well

Respectfully, that kind of feels like a very fast way to get the fans to turn on Cody when Cody's arguably the only shot at a fresh top babyface they have right now. The "final" test is going to be to do something super vile to KO and he won't be able to do it. Roman makes Jey or Solo do it instead and that's what causes the rift and Sami getting kicked from The Bloodline. They may even throw Sami off something or do something to hurt him really bad in story so people don't expect him in the Rumble later on. Daniel Bryan's story was "you guys won't let me near the world title when I'm the best." Sami's story is "I want to be accepted by the cool bullies" but he's inherently good. I just don't think he needs the belt.

Like, you could have him try to low blow in front of the ref but an Uso at ringside gets the wrong idea and distracts rather than let him lose by DQ and keep the belt. Just resort to the sort of things he's been stamping into the Bloodline not to do etc then they can see the leader unravel and lose support. I'd usually be cynical about them doing that but considering the effort that went into this whole angle as is, it really should be the end game of sorts.

Sami beats Rollins, who is using last year's Rumble draw as motivation along with being a dick, at the Chamber to earn a Universal title shot on Night 2, Cody beats Roman night 1 and Sami beats Roman Night 2.

If Cody’s winning, Sami should not be in the Rumble towards the end. I don’t think it would get a Bryan-like groundswell and rejection but they shouldn’t even take the chance.

To add to my previous proposal, Sami gets in when Roman's attempt at sending an Uso in his spot goes wrong, Sami gets in, gets distracted by the Uso, Rollins dumps him out. Basically Mizdow in 2015 but actually good.

I will give it that if the intention is to have Roman gradually become more unhinged as things unravel for him, they've already done a pretty decent job laying the groundwork with that for how the dude's mental state seems to be in a complete downward spiral and he seems to be ready to kill everyone around him solely from losing a completely inconsequential tag match a month ago.

Roman hasn't been pinned since December 2019 and doing it on back-to-back nights just makes it seem less important, IMO. Sami's motivations have never been the world title, it's been looking for acceptance. I don't see why that changes now. You can do everything you've suggested with The Bloodline just giving up on Roman if The Uso's lose the belts on Night 1 and Roman berates them while he gets straight up beat by the better man on Night 2. This is just my two cents though. I honestly think it's a credit to the WWE this year that I think they've got a few different reasonable approaches to the main event at Mania instead of "if Daniel Bryan doesn't win the title this thing is a disaster."

No, but even with that, it'd be weird if it didn't lead to a world title match especially since most of the storyline has revolved around Sami and Roman. Like, sure, you could still do the tag title match but the Usos feel like a way for Sami to get that title match instead of an end point to his character. And, like, this is more a pet peeve, one of the problems of WWE singular storytelling is that the company doesn't really tell stories as much as have moments that lead to moments and it doesn't add to a narrative. If you just look at Roman losing two times in two nights, that feels like it takes away from the stories of the matches where he did lose two times across two nights. That's entirely just me, though.

Even without Sami expressing any real desire to be champion I still kind of feel like him beating Roman is the logical endgame of the story. Reigns has spent ages continually making him dance for him, talking down to him, and treating him like shit, pretty much refusing to give Sami the affirmation he's been seeking despite continually demanding for people to acknowledge him and Sami being happy to do so. Karmically it just fits that Roman would meet finally get his comeuppance at the hands of the guy he's spent such a significant portion of his title reign treating like shit who thick and thin has had nothing but respect and admiration for him.

With Roman not being pinned in over 3 years, him being beat has to be a one and done thing. Maybe just vacate the wwe title, have Seth win it at EC then do some sort of triple threat between Seth, Cody and Drew. Sami could pull double duty, win the tag titles with KO on Night 1, then the universal title on Night 2. The tag title storyline can be Sami trying to convince the Usos that Roman is just manipulating them and after the Usos lose, have them shake KO and Sami’s hands. The next night Roman berates them and calls them failures causing them to leave Roman on his own and lose to Sami

It feels like that's been inconsistent, too. I've always gotten the sense that they want you to think that Roman likes Sami, even if he finds him annoying. He's the one that was calling him the honorary uce, got him the t-shirt, etc. Jey's been the one that was harder to sell and then there were those weird few weeks where it seemed Jimmy wasn't a fan of Sami's, either. I think regardless of the direction this takes, there's part of me that thinks next week or at some point soon, we're going to find out that the whole trial was staged, including Jey's intervention, to push Sami to do something bad to KO at Rumble. You could even do it Batista style where we see him overhearing Heyman and the Bloodline talking about it. Here I am talking myself into Sami/Roman now, but I still think KO/Sami reuniting is the story they'll wind up telling.

It’s why the idea of Sami’s final test being putting his loyalty to the Bloodline (or just Roman) by foregoing his Rumble spot to help him out in the title match would work here. Especially, when you make it clear that it’s Roman preying on Sami’s desire for acceptance and manipulating that for his own personal gain.

Sidenote kind of just want to draw attention to how unbelievably lame KO's promo was. I get the why of it but him skirting around ever actually saying he's going to win and instead just talking about how he's going to try really, really hard made him look like such a doofus.

Outside view looking in: every time I hear about this storyline, I'm floored that people aren't totally confident that the endgame is Sami beating Roman.
Not to say they're wrong to not be totally sure about that; it does seem like there's multiple other directions WWE might end up going with this. But man, just reading what's happening in this story makes it clear that Sami's the main character, he's getting the big reactions, and everything points to him standing up to Roman, just seems weird that there'd be any other outcome.
Maybe that perception wouldn't be so strong if Cody hadn't gotten hurt and missed as much time as he did, then there could've been more time to build up his own angle or story.
