FYI in advance I'm gonna f***ing ugly cry when Sami has a big climactic match in this storyline and gets Worlds Apart back I think even if he eventually gets a new theme because of all the CFO$ stuff, he's 100% walking into Elimination Chamber with World's Apart. I'd be stunned if it didn't happen. Imagine WWE not cheaping out and licensing Ole Ole Ole.

Imagine WWE not cheaping out and licensing Ole Ole Ole. I honestly have mixed feelings about that. I'm kind of like...that was El Generico and he's just so much more than that now. I get it was important to the character then, but I personally am more connected to World's Apart now. That said, if our favorite Generic Luchador decided to show up for one last run, having Ole would be badass.

Meltzer confirmed in his daily update that Roman will face Sami in Montreal at Elimination Chamber (which does leave the question open as to what the men's chamber is for - probably either the US/Intercontinental titles). There doesn't necessarily have to be a men's chamber. I could see there just being one chamber match and it being to determine who challenges the Women's champion that Rhea isn't facing. Also, hopefully that night Roman gets a Cena ONS 2006 reaction from start to finish. I don't think you can quite get to that level in a 50-80,000 seat stadium show but in a crammed Bell Centre they might boo him worse than they did HBK in the same building during that famous 2005 promo. “WHO’S YOUR DADDY CHIEF, MONTREAL?”

Imagine WWE not cheaping out and licensing Ole Ole Ole. I think that they could build his inevitable new babyface theme around that chant, after all it’s such a ubiquitous chant at this point that it’s basically public domain. (Basically, I’m asking if it existed before the Bouncing Souls song)

Gee whiz that "This is It" theme sounds like something you'd accidentally give a CAW. It would be embarassing to hear that at wrestlemania

No need… Looking it up, its origins are actually Belgian, as part of a song written in support of the Anderlecht football team. A subsequent version written for the national team for the 1986 World Cup introduced the chant in the chorus, and then a third re-write reworked the chant into what it is currently well known to be (“Oleeeee, ole ole oleeeee, oleeeee, oleeeee”).

(Basically, I’m asking if it existed before the Bouncing Souls song) it's been a Soccer/Football chant much longer than Bouncing Souls which was only 99 I think. I think it came from the 86 world cup in Mexico. edit: and yeah and it started as "Allez" for Belgium before that. but Ole is Spanish <_<

Anyway it's insane to me that this man put NXT on the map and it's taken him a full decade to get anything like near the main event

Anything less than Sami beating Roman is going to be a letdown of massive proportions.
So, of course, that's what will happen.
Roman will beat Sami at the next PPV. Sami/KO will get the Usos at Mania, and will likely lose. Sami/KO will get shuffled back into the midcard and forgotten about. Roman will lose the titles to Cody, take some time off, but have them back within a few months, and things will be right back where we started.
No stars will be made, no one will be pushed, and we'll be back to the same status quo this company has maintained forever.

Imagine Roman losing to Cody on night one and then Sami having to face a pissed off Roman on night two.

My guess is KO and Sami beat the Usos but Roman beats Cody.

Gonna be super f***ing depressing when Roman beats Sami and we transition to KO/Sami going for Tag Belts and Roman feuding with Cody
I just feel like it's a massive dropped ball to not have Sami win a world title. I think this is a lightening in a bottle situation and I just ain't sold on it being any other way as of right now. That can change, but it all just feels like Sami proved with the crowd reactions why he should have a world title, and he's not gonna get it, way too many early Daniel Bryan parallels there.

I feel like many people (not all) are trying to rationalize what we know the company will do, as opposed to what we know they should do. If the Wrestlemania payoff for this arc is Sami and KO winning the tag belts, it will 100% have peaked at Rumble.

Anyone seemingly getting close to beating Roman has gotten massive pops for it, and Cody already is getting big pops... so let's not act like Cody winning is going to be met with crickets.

I truly think "Cody beating Roman for the belts will likely get a big pop and the storyline will be fine" and "It's really f***ing depressing that it likely won't be Sami and he's gonna lose to Roman in his Hometown" can exist in the same Universe.
Like I don't think anyone's BUMMED if it's Cody who has the triumphant Roman dethroning, but I think there's something really special with Sami right now that him losing to Roman and going for the tag belts inevitably, feels like there could be so much more there than what they seem to have planned
But hey, we'll see

Which was who I was referring to.
