It is so great. And at least as of yesterday, it was 50% off on Amazon To be fair who knows how long its been that price on Amazon It has been steeply discounted for at least six months. I grabbed one when the price was $100 USD. Yesterday it was about $150. Today it’s $190-something.

I don’t have a problem with the people who own or license things removing stuff from circulation. That’s a right they either paid for or own. When a government or some other outside force does it…that’s when I have a problem. I think these are two different things. Mostly because they come from two different places. One that allows the people in charge of the content to do with it what they choose…and one that does the opposite.
Do I think Hulu should take an episode of Community where Chang is painted like a dark elf off the service? No. But I’m not going to outbid them for the right to make that choice so It is what it is. On the other hand, if something is removed because someone else who doesn’t own that right gets it removed…that I’ll be mad about. It’s no one’s place to tell the owner of content what they do with it or why. And that works both ways.

And your post reminds me of Ray Bradbury's position regarding censorship. He said that government won't have to censor anything, we will censor ourselves. Government won't have to prohibit the reading or viewing of certain material, we will do that ourselves. Same with surveillance. With phones and door cameras and the like, we have ourselves under constant surveillance, the government doesn't need to.
