27 stands out as the only WrestleMania in history where no titles changed hands.
I still say 11 is the worst because being in a football stadium in a major city with the production values they had felt like a WrestleMania. 11 was in Hartford at a regular size arena with presentation that barely made it stand out from Raw.

Doing a Mania binge and so far i think 2, 9, 11 and 12 so far are worse.. 2 I give a pass on a bit because 1)different time, 2)trying something different than the first " This is also why it’s hard to compare older Royal Rumbles to current ones. Standards were a lot different several decades ago and the overall product was still a work in progress. This is also why old and new fans may see the Attitude Era differently. You had to be there to understand why everything stood out. Or as Michael Scott said, its “geography.” 😂

It is hard to rate one over the other but I'll give the nod to Mania 32.
I remember it just felt like went on forever and then Triple-H and Roman went out and had a 265 minute match that was a slog to get through. I remember it was the same day as the Walking Dead Season 6 finale and I was let down by that one too.

With 27, we were at the absolute height of the WWE monopoly. The roster was as stacked as it has ever been, and there was just no excuse to justify such a stinker of a show. Funny you say the roster was stacked at the time (it was pretty good, it’s just salient to the point I want to make), because this was the WM that many pegged as the one where the Jenga tower was about to come down and the buyrate numbers were about to crater. They’d lost Batista and Michaels from the year before, Undertaker and Triple H had gone part-time and fans were fatigued with Cena and Orton being ever-present at the top of the card, thus WWE breaking the people’s glass in case of emergency and bringing back Rock. Which boosted the numbers for sure, but changed how they would book WrestleMania forever with the subsequent emphasis on featuring part-timers. Yeah, I think I am probably looking on it retrospectively rather than how the company was actually perceived in 2011. But that was a WWE roster that had the likes of Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes either in their primes or entering their primes on top of a lot of the "old guard" like Cena, Orton, Edge, Undertaker, Mysterio, and Triple H still active or semi-active and generally working at a high level. And then the card was a dud which emphasized an announcer feud that no one liked or wanted, and featured a schmozz of a main event. I don't even necessarily mind the emphasis on part-timers, celebrities, and legends in the 10+ years since at Mania. It adds to the glitz, glamour, and spectacle of all of it, and that's ultimately what differentiates WWE from other wrestling companies (for better or worse). It's just 27 did it so poorly.

At least the stage was cool. And Taker coming out to “ain’t no grave” by Johnny cash was awesome at the time (it’s been edited out from other platforms dammit)

for worst in the modern era I usually lean towards 32 but this thread got me thinking
WM25 gets s***, but honestly? If you look past the awful battle royal, the non-Ricky Steamboat part of Jericho's match and the disappointing main event, it's really not *that* bad of a show.
WM27 is truly worse than I remember it being. Taker/HHH slapped and Cody/Rey is good but WOW the rest of the card is lame. Edge/Del Rio I remember being decent but that doesn't save it from the hell that is Cole/Lawler and there's two totally nothing multi-person tag matches. I do remember Cena/Miz never really getting out of first gear either.
WM29 is another one I think is okay but looking back at it I see why it gets flack. I love the Punk/Taker match, and I think Cena/Rock, HHH/Lesnar and the Shield match are all pretty good. I do think Jericho/Fandango is decent but it and the rest of the card are nothing special.
WM32 is buttcheeks. The ladder match and the women's triple threat are both good. Jericho/AJ and Brock/Ambrose were both super disappointing. Taker/Shane and Roman/HHH both went on. For. Ever. and everything else is just nothing. Also, Usos vs. Dudleys got put on the pre-show for some reason?
Those are the 4 that usually get the most flack. I'd say 25 is probably the best out of the four and maybe even a little underrated

I still think WM 9 is legitimately one of the worst PPVs of all time. So no

Didn’t we all dislike Wrestlemania 25? 25 was a terrible show with perhaps the most embarrassing (for the company, to be a wrestling fan, take your pick) moment in Mania history with Santino winning that sham of a WOMAN’S battle royale, but it also can’t really be the worst because it had one of the best matches in WWE history on the card too

27 is probably the worst. I got a soft spot for 9 since it was like the third ever PPV my parents ordered for me and my friends. I can also forgive it since the roster sucked.

23. To be fair to Miz, he got concussed early into this, so he's not to blame for the very dull match we sit through. Cena was the one who concussed early on, taking an awkward but otherwise innocuous bump into the corner. Miz got concussed in the double count-out spot when the back of his head bounced off the unpadded concrete floor. Sucks for Miz that 27 was his only WrestleMania main event and he doesn't remember a single thing.

Wrestlemania 27 goes down in the top 5 worst of all time, though in my own opinion, I rank it at #4. Above them are Wrestlemania 32, Wrestlemania 11, and Wrestlemania 9.

The only right answer to me is 32. Too long, none of the matches were memorable in any way, and the main event was WWE actively going against what the fans wanted and was also too long.
Like, 27 sucked, but at least sent the crowd home happy.

why the hell not? here are my overall rankings.

I'll agree that Mania 27 is the absolute worst.
It's the one and only inconsequential Wrestlemania. You can go right from the February PPV that year to the April PPV and nothing will have changed.
Mania 32 at least has one of the 2010s best Mania surprise moments with Zack Ryder winning the title in the ladder match.
29 has Taker-Punk.
34 has an Empire Records reference.
27 has NOTHING.

Also, 32 had Jericho-AJ which people only disliked at the time because Jericho went over, but storyline-wise and career-trajectory wise Jericho winning was absolutely the right call for that match.
32 has -
The ladder match with the feel good genuine surprise of Zack Ryder winning.
AJ-Jericho
and the women's triple threat match.
All three better than absolutely anything on WM 27.

And Mania 11 has Salt-N-Pepa give the single greatest Wrestlemania musical performance of all time. Taking a relatively current popular song and then REWRITING THE LYRICS to reflect the main event's storyline.
Pepa and Salt both actually being real life huge wrestling fans added to it, you can feel their passion in the interaction. Pepa also took home and still has one of the chairs from ringside.

27 sucked absolutely but legit the worst? Can't say that when we had manias like 9,11,25,29 and 32. I mean even Taker/HHH alome on the Card makes it automatically not the worst i would think. Other than that the Mania had basically nothing yea. Punk/Orton was always a bot overhyped i thought, Match didn't had anything to it other than the RKO at the end. Cena/Miz wasn't a worhty Main Event we all know that.
i'd say 29 was probably worse. The Show had NOTHING besides Taker vs Punk. The Main Event of 29 was more terrible than 27 for me!
WM 32 had also nothing besides the Ladder's Match and Divas Match. Taker/Shane sucked besides the Stunt. Roman/HHH was the most boring shit i ever saw mabye, 30 mins of boringness.

Children, children. We don't need to debate which is worse from 27 or 32.
They're both f***ing terrible.

Might change my vote to 29 since it convinced people Punk/‘Taker was a classic. It’s a 3 star match on a 2 star card.
