Well, for how I used to compare him to All Might for shits & giggles, this may as well be Cody Rhodes right now.

The layers of how badly that sucks from it being a shit motivation to "Wade Barrett says he heard it" really speaks to the masterful strokes of compelling narrative that WWE is weaving here that are going to be so much more gratifying to behold than anything they could have done by having Cody win.

Can't remember which thread I posted it, but I called it. And if Brock/Omos had gone last, the crowd would have already been deflated.

Can't remember which thread I posted it, but I called it. And if Brock/Omos had gone last, the crowd would have already been deflated. And they’d be even more deflated for Omos losing.

That cannot seriously be what they’re going with for Brock’s motivation?
That’s even more stupid than expected if true.

What's funny about Brock's alleged motivation is at WM35, he and Heyman specifically interrupted the proceedings and demanded to wrestle first because he didn't want to wait around if he wasn't main eventing
(A generous interpretation of Heyman's words that day might suggest he's just making excuses to bait Rollins into wrestling the match early, but still)

The motivation for this is literally "Brock is angry that his match against Omos didn't main event Wrestlemania". Only Vince could write this. I looked up Omos's wikipedia page to see what it had on the storyline to see if there was actual meat to it and nobody's even updated it to reflect anything since the Royal Rumble. That's how much that match mattered. This is the kind of motivation you'd expect from some vain, deluded midcard heel goof, but f***ing Brock Lesnar?

It also doesn’t make sense for Brock’s character. His whole thing is he just wants to get paid, or do stuff he thinks will be fun, or both. HE’s never been portrayed as caring about going on last?

Not only does it make no sense that Brock cared about the card position but it's been actively said in the past that Brock would choose to go on first so he can get home earlier.
Brock's motivation should be simple. As long as Roman is champion he can't get a title shot due to the Summerslam stipulation. Being champion means more money so he obviously needs Roman to lose the title before he can get another shot and he's taking it out on Cody for losing at Wrestlemania. Makes him a huge bully for attacking Cody for something that wasn't his fault (even Brock couldn't beat all the Bloodline by himself) and a perfect heel explanation. Hopefully that's the one they actually go with when he eventually cuts his next promo.

If Brock is mad about opening the show shouldn't he also attack Roman, the Usos, Kevin and Sami for closing shows? Why target Cody other than just cos he's a bitch now?

Has it ever been explained why they didn't do Lesnar against Lashley? That feud was completely unresolved and was right there. I get that apparently Lesnar nixed the Bray idea but him against Lashley would've made so much more sense then hastily trying to reheat Omos who had done f**k all for months and had been bitched out in all his encounters with Braun who has been deemphasized quite a bit himself. Was it just simply they didn't want either Brock or Lashley jobbing? In Lashley's case I don't get why they are so hell bent on protecting him? Like obviously he should be protected but at the same time it won't be the end of the world if he loses sometimes especially if he isn't going to be in the title picture any time soon.

Hopefully that's the one they actually go with when he eventually cuts his next promo. Or just have Cody win the belt so that Lesnar attacking him works because the Summerslam stipulation is null and void due to Roman’s loss and it becomes a hot main event for the title at Backlash. Sadly, though, that time has passed.
