I missed this line from him, what was it? Roman called Seth a crossdresser. And doing it in Texas where "cross-dressing" was essentially criminalized when drag shows were almost made illegal last year as part of attempted anti-LGBTQ laws was ESPECIALLY incredibly tone-deaf.

TCF, wasting time on an overlong Kross vs. Lashley match that no one cared about was just dumb booking as well. For all the worries that Seth was gonna get “massacred” tonight, he was cooking here. People keep downplaying seth, and it blows my mind. The crowd loves him and he can hang. Folks online be tripping Seth's been doing the best promo work of his career throughout this story.

'Diarrhea Dwayne' aside, Seth looked quite strong holding his own against the Rock, even managing to tell him to shut his mouth.

It would sort of explain why HHH would happily make a new belt for Seth to have because, hey, they ain’t paying the guy weekly. Might as well amuse his main event slots and leave it like that. This reminds me of the gag from The Office where Dwight was such a good salesman they made him employee of the month for an "extra" month rather than give him a pay raise.

I'm not sure the crossdresser line was scripted. The other three looked slightly surprised by it. He does struggle to ad-lib as we've seen in the past.

He's had the WWE promo of the year so far with the "Uniquely suited to be your shield" promo. Heck he might have the 2 best, because there's also his "Taking down the Bloodline is bigger than us" promo to Drew.

I think the cross dressing line was Roman internally panicking because he knows he’s being overshadowed by the Rock

Not only does cross dresser come off as bigoted, it doesn’t even make sense for the context it’s said.
If you’ve ever seen a Drag Queen, you see great coordination, great make up and doing it in a way that suits the personality they want to shine through.
Seth looks like he tripped and fell inside Harrods and didn’t think much about it when he came out but was told it’s “high fashion” so was extra smug about it.

I'd like to point out this crap is taking up so much air time that Smackdown had 17 minutes of on screen wrestling this week.
17 minutes is only a long time if you're Bojack Horseman.

Seriously though, yeah that is freaking nuts. When on promo segment outlasts all the wrestling combined on a wrestling show, something is wrong.

People got weirdly upset when Kate from Fightful pointed out the stunning lack of wrestling on a wrestling show.

I decided to try watching the segment. 9 minutes before anyone spoke. Rock had his own separate entrance after the longass bloodline entrance. Glad I didn't watch this live. Roman switching to Acknowledge us and Rock having his own entrance is really pushing that whole 'actually Roman isn't so important after all' vibe. More entrances. Talking starts again at just after 13 minutes. Damn they dragged this out. Wow, Solo, Jimmmmmmy and Paul just exit stage left because I guess the big boys are talking? There were some okay moments but it seemed odd, that someone would throw something out and go unchallenged for a minute or two while they continued. Kinda made things a bit disjointed. There were good moments though.

I thought I'd drop in to see how Cody is doing and he doesn't even have a mention in this page of his own thread.

Roman really shouldn’t be the fourth most important person in this fued. I hope him and Cody have a couple of face off’s soon. Night 2 is the potential conclusion of a multi year world title reign and the Main Villian who’s been dominating for years looks like a complete little brother The problem with how WrestleMania XL is booked is that WWE can't really get to discussing Cody-Roman without first having the Night 1 main event. Like, yeah, they can have face-offs and talk about the match they're going to have, but there's still a major undercurrent of whether the match will be a one-on-one contest or whether The Bloodline will have free reign to do whatever they want to Cody. So they can't really "build" to Sunday's main event without first getting through Saturday and whatever the result of that match is.

You could if nothing else have Cody start trying to needle at Roman about it, try to get in his head. Try and press him on why if he's such a great champion he thinks he needs the Bloodline stipulation to have a chance, really hammer in how dependent he is on others. Which would also put over Roman getting increasingly paranoid about Rock overshadowing him.

It just feels weird this is just the story now. Like, I get the logic of Night 1 to Night 2 from a finance sense (Rock's in a tag, two big champions in the tag to then have something for their night 2 matches etc) but thematically, it's sort of surreal how quickly we went from "Finishing the story" to "Rock's the true head of the table" to "Rock's just with The Bloodline now because he's fed up of Cody and I guess all of that is fine now?"
Like, this is the biggest match going into this year's WrestleMania and the two main points so far are "Cody flip flopped for no good reason" and "Roman the character may or may not be transphobic". Oh and "FOX is pretty done with Smackdown's bullshit" but that's a narrative since, like, 2019.
