The Roman/Cody stuff was just the tip of the iceberg of problems at Night 2. You also had Edge going over Balor when it shouldn't have happened, and then you had Bianca going over Asuka, in what some are speculating a last minute change because of that girl whose mom died.
And now you have Cody who is a geek, Balor who isn't any better off, and Asuka whose character is dead in the water, along with Bianca killing off a very large chunk of her own support.

I can totally believe Cody losing was a Triple H call:
1. Triple H is an old school NWA/JCP fanboy. And traditionally those promotions had long heel title reigns with babyfaces chasing them. And if your look at how he booked NXT, same deal. Heck even the “faction constantly interferes in every match” was similar of champ Adam Cole, Shayna Baszler, etc.
2. Hunter was constantly politicking to go over during his Reign of Terror, whether it made sense at the time or not.
3. The Mania finish was almost the exact same finish that he booked for Roman vs. Drew at Clash at the Castle.
Etc.

Can I add the treatment of Elias to this dissertation of HHH gripes? Yes, because while I don't think Ezekiel had a high ceiling as a gimmick idea, it was still getting somewhat over and the idea of Elias in a sort of Nutty Professor gimmick I thought could be fun But even back as his old gimmick, he's just been jobbed out and it almost feels like a rib how much he has been, RAW especially just felt cruel this week. I love the idea of Boogz and him as a tag team but it doesn't exactly seem like they care... like at all about him anymore, and it's really weird because he ALWAYS got a reaction despite anything they did usually. Miz is another that has been booked into the ground, but he still gets stuff despite the fact he's essentially always the butt of the joke now, which is more than Elias is getting. On the same token, Gargano and Lumis feel like complete afterthoughts, which is crazy considering how much HHH loved Gargano in NXT. On the main roster he feels like an underdog without any clear path or meaning, so he's essentially just a fall guy for people like Edge, who literally demeaned him in a promo and Gargano decided he'd help him anyway... doesn't make anyone look good. Have the same issue with Legado suddenly turning face and only existing to be Rey Mysterio's fall guys... the mentors and vets are supposed to help elevate talent, not beat them into the ground so they look good, it's ass backwards imo.

Even with that I think it's pretty stupid. There's really no one left on SmackDown for him to beat, it just keeps up how all of the singles titles except the Raw Women's one are on heels, and after so much teasing on giving the belt to Sheamus it's well past time to just do it already. The only reason for Gunther to still have the belt is, "Record!"

I could believe that HHH wanted Cody to lose thinking that fans will rally behind Cody even more. But I do not believe it because while HHH may have dark clouds over his booking choices (specifically the women) he isn't one to book Cody like he did and NOT give him his moment and also as has been said just look at both nights of Mania and you can very easily tell who atleast had major influence on each night...Vince and HHH may have slight similiraities but their differences in booking ideologies are pretty damn easily distinguishable. And also like someone said that Keller report is so pro-Vince that it honestly feels like we are about to engage in a split down the middle of those pro and anti Vince spitting out reports from their "sources" and everyone is just gonna have to wade through all the bullshit to find the actual scattered truth. The thing that really gets me is how radically different the two parts of the show were.

Can I add the treatment of Elias to this dissertation of HHH gripes? Let's also not forget the interminable Dexter Lumis/Miz feud. Shit went on and on and on and then when it finally ended, there was outside interference by Bronson Reed, and then nobody involved in the feud interacted with each other or Bronson Reed again. Huh?!

And the women's divisions... haven't been good. Damage CTRL has had a ton of problems and have basically just been used as fodder on the latter half of their run, and the lower end division is all a joke, me and EOE ran stats on this a few weeks ago but the women he called back outside of Damage CTRL's win records were atrocious and still pretty much are. Woman like Piper, Cross, LaRae, "Mitchin", Emma, Sonya, Chelsea, Tegan, Xia... they're all just warm bodies for the main event women to catch and haven't done much of anything outside of Chelsea who has really made the gimmick work. And they're STILL trying to make Lacey Evans a thing... guh. Sure, if you call two wins over enhancement talents in three months "trying". It'd be a fascinating psychological study... The perceived strength of someone's push relative to their actual results/frequency of TV time, based around the variable of how much a fan likes or dislikes the individual talents.

I still can’t get over how stupid and shortsighted cody losing is. The week has pretty much gone by and if anything, I’m even more angry about it.
It was right there for you, you idiots.

I'd more call the vignettes and TV time trying with her much more than other girls who are better and... well not pretty problematic on the socials multiple times. I wouldn't say it's been a rocket push but it's clearly attempt like 17 on a woman who they either never want to buy into or sinks with the gimmicks they keep trying to give her... in Lacey's case it might be both

Well Bronson Reed's next match is vs Lashley, I don't feel good about it. A DQ might be likely because... Bronson's not winning that match. Bronson's a HHH guy and he also left New Japan high and dry so... if Vince is back fully, that dude better hope his push keeps going lol

they turned cody from tom brady to nathan peterman, it is sick and undeserved To bring another sports analogy into this, one could say WWE dropped the ball harder than Luis Castillo.
Now I hate myself for referencing that awful moment in Mets history. -__-
