All this talk about top bookers like Trips preferring long heel runs has me wondering what wrestling bookers past or present sticks with dominant faces and good guy champs? I could be missing something in here, but for the WWWF/WWF/WWE title lineage starting in 1963 and continuing through one of Roman's belts today: the first heel to hold the belt for longer than a month is Superstar Billy Graham in 1977, 14 years in. After Graham holds it for almost 300 days, the next heel to hold the belt for longer than a month isn't until 1991, when Sgt. Slaughter's 64 day reign becomes the second longest heel title reign in the company to that point. The first heel to break 100 days with the belt after Graham's run is Yokozuna in 1993, 30 years into the run of the company. (Savage has a year-plus reign in there, but he doesn't actually turn heel until February, so he's only a heel champ for just under two months, a shorter duration than Slaughter or Flair's first run.)

Genuinely curious considering Solo is played near mute and in turn he has played his role to perfection I believe... How can you hate "You really are a funny...Tribal Chief"? haha

Never understood why the dude with the backstory that he was kicked out of his family and had to survive on the streets... immediately went back to that family at the first available moment.

How does someone who spend nine billion dollars on something they want Vince McMahon to run ever get rich in the first place?

How does someone who spend nine billion dollars on something they want Vince McMahon to run ever get rich in the first place? Vince’s creative has fallen off but he’s been great at making money (in wrestling, at least).

I find Solo to be like Taz in ECW, if you took away everything interesting about Taz.

Maybe Rikishi is just a deadbeat dad and Roman promised to take care of him? 🤷🏻♂️

Honestly SD overall kind of left me with the feeling of, for all of the hype about Mania, it really did not resolve it even progress anything. Up and down the card was like that.
It feels like it’s just the same stuff as before Mania.

Solo to me mostly strikes me as one of those people where he's perfectly fine in the role he's in but the second he's expected to do more than that and stand on his own two feet in a prominent role it's going to be boring at best and a disaster at worst.

All this talk about top bookers like Trips preferring long heel runs has me wondering what wrestling bookers past or present sticks with dominant faces and good guy champs? I mean it was the McMahon's bread and butter... have the face be the champion and face a series of monster heels... Most feds in the NWA were face centric as well ... they kinda needed to be with people like Ric being the champion most of the time.
