On the heels of the Cody loss at Wrestlemania 39. What other moments, for any title, was the right time for someone to win but didn't?
I got Goldberg at Summerslam 2003 and Drew at Clash at the Castle.
What other moments, were talent were over huge and hot at the moment but WWE didn't capitalize?

Braun Strowman should have beaten Beastie Boy at Summerslam 2018 instead of Reigns. But WWE ended up pissing away all of his heat.
Shinsuke Nakamura needed to destroy Jinder Mahal in 2017 after that promo, but it was just one in a litany of bottle jobs from the dude.

In retrospect, it might have been for the best, but whenever that time was where Ryback could have been WWE champion.

Miz should have defeated Shane every time they faced each other. I'm half convinced McMahon's recent injury at Wrestlemania was that even fate was sick of Miz losing to him and thus they felt the need to step in.

Braun at No Mercy 2017. He could've dropped it back at the Rumble or something if he bombed.

Shinsuke Nakamura is the biggest one I can think of. He was so popular! They did it too him twice too. He should have won at SummerSlam. He managed to remain popular after that. Popular enough to win the Rumble, but they again ruined it by having him loose at Wrestlemania. He never recovered, and WWE lost what could have been a huge star.
That same Wrestlemania, they screwed over Asuka as well. Charlotte gained nothing from that win. Asuka took a long time to rebuild, and probably never truly fully recovered from that.
Sami in Montreal. Much worse now in hindsight with Cody losing.
Booker T vs HHH was awful. Who's idea was it to tell a story with kinda racist undertones, and then have the racist character win?

They waited a month too long to give Angle the title in 2001. He was a RED HOT babyface going into Summerslam.

They waited a month too long to give Angle the title in 2001. He was a RED HOT babyface going into Summerslam. And if not him, RVD was red hot by September and October, so the WWE had their chance yet again and didn't do it.

Goldberg should have won at Summerslam 2003.
Booker T should have won at WrestleMania 19.
Sasha Banks should have won at Mania 32 and Roadblock 2016.
Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka should have won at Mania 34.

The original (for me, at least): After months of enduring insults and having to go through the rest of the Heenan Family, Big Boss Man should have won the IC title from Mr. Perfect at WM 7.

The Luger Yoko thing in hindsight maaaaay have been the right call cause Luger was no Hogan, but anybody winning a match by DQ and confetti coming down and everybody picking him up like a f***ing dork was very dumb.

Luger was one. You don't do all of that and then get cold feet. Bret was the better choice, but they've given so many wrestlers a chance to have their time and only went 99% of the way with Lex.
Booker T obviously.
Sami should have been at Mania. There was so much history with Roman, and Roman had almost none with Cody. Sami was white hot. Even if he just dropped it to Cody at SS. A long, long time ago Wrestlemania was built to a great deal in advance and fans left happy. Sami over Roman would have accomplished that.
Razor Ramon. Rick Rude. RVD pre-knee injury. It's hilarious how many things Vince overlooked with Lawler, Snuka (allegedly), the steroid scandal, the ring boy scandal, and about 100 other scandals and he torpedoed RVD over the wacky tobaccy.

Booker T/Goldberg at Wrestlemania/Summerslam 2003. Business wise the Summerslam one probably worked as they got a big buyrate for the Goldberg/HHH singles the next month but as a fan the pop he got for winning at Unforgiven was way less exciting to watch than it would have been at Summerslam. The crowd was going so crazy for him in that chamber match.
Ryback at Hell in a Cell 2012. Let him hold it for a couple of months then drop it back to Punk in that TLC match on the first Raw of 2013. Punk/Rock was going to draw what it was going to draw no matter how long Punk's reign was. It wasn't worth killing a potential new main event star.
Sasha (or Becky at WM) at Wrestlemania/Summerslam/Hell in a Cell/Roadblock 2016. If Charlotte had lost a couple or hell even one of those then the others wouldn't be quite as bad but winning them all was just too much and made each one worse than the last.

Pete Gas should have walked out of WrestleMania 2000 the Hardcore Champ at the end of the match. I know he won it briefly but Tazz messed that up.
