Pour one out for Rampage. The A-show is officially leaving us.

Rammers will always have their moment when The Bunny showed that she, not Roman Reigns, was the true Tribal Chief. Acknowledge her!

Outside of MAX they can do packages like a year's worth of PPVs (12?) for a sum that averages at maybe $30-35 per PPV.

Oh no! Who could forget all the great moments and memories of Rampage like... I got nothing Kenny vs Christian, Punk's debut, and several women's street fights spring to mind. It started out hot but became less relevant as time went on.

It started out hot but became less relevant as time went on. Don't forget Yuta becoming a made man in one night in his match vs Mox and then post-match joining the BCC by drawing BCC on his chest with his own blood, Takeshita vs Bandido, the Royal Rampages, the Saraya/Ruby Soho/Matt Menard storyline, and the best match in Rampage history: Top Flight vs Vikingo/Kommander/Penta.

This is exactly what Zarian said:
”I will say that they will be on MAX in January, they could do it sooner but I do know that they are planning on January. I do know that pay-per-views are gonna be on there. They don’t have an exclusivity on the pay-per-views, so they will be available on other places like WWE, you know you can still order the PLEs that are on Peacock. I don’t know the pricing, I never asked. I am very certain they will be simulcasting, that’s part of what’s in the works but I Don’t know if it will be from the beginning of the MAX deal or later on, but they will be there.”

I actually didn't remember that the Yuta match and angle was on Rampage. That was a banger too.

I was at that first Rampage show and the crowd was one of the hottest I’ve been in. People were going wild for Christian/Omega. The first year or so of Rampage was genuinely booked as on par with Dynamite and then it sort of fell off from there. I’ll miss it because I’m a firm believer that not every show needs to be treated as an A-show but Shockwave will probably be a big deal, especially if it ends up on a broadcast network.

Rampage basically became the Superstars of AEW. It wasn't important, but I liked that it was a low-commitment hour of fun wrestling. It's a nice change of pace from the Raws and Dynamites of the landscape.

It wasn't important to the A-level stuff, but it did provide a number of midcard storylines over the years, or at least served as a primary staging ground for quite a few.
It's an interesting topic: a lot of people don't feel Collision or Rampage are/were required viewing, and I don't blame them entirely for that given that, yep, you definitely got more squashes or "this will be competitive but this person is obviously losing" kinds of matches ala early Nitros or Raws, but given that another issue some have with AEW is midcarders getting a bit lost in the shuffle these shows have often been a way that some have gotten highlighted. Tough thing to balance.

For those of us who can't get enough of Aew, it was great we didn't have to wait a whole week for some (any) Aew to come around. Collision the same. So glad they exist. We might be in a minority. I think with the deal coming, TK will now feel confident to try things and hopefully improve the quality of Collision.

Tony seems to be stuck in thinking Dynamite is the only TV show where important must see stuff can happen.
It's like he doesn't even want to attempt to do anything with Rampage/Collision because he knows with the timeslot, a lot less people are watching, so just saves it for Dynamite.
Unless Tony makes a real effort with this new Shockwave show, it just seems a bit pointless.

Unless Tony makes a real effort with this new Shockwave show, it just seems a bit pointless. I mean, he did. People had their first matches on Rampage/Collision, feuds happen on those shows especially big women’s ones etc. Statistically, people don’t watch. And even if it does happen, discourse online mentions that it shouldn’t be that way. Some people were mad Jamie Hayter was on Rampage even though it set up a match for the Grand Slam shows It’s the paradox of if you do things and nobody watches and then people get annoyed when things actually happen, what else do you do except try and use it as a way to help lesser booked talent have TV time?

One of the highlights was when Rampage had a free buy-in (Danielson Vs Suzuki) competing with the second hour of Smackdown (which later had 30 minutes commercial free). The main show being noteworthy for the Bunny's rating success against Roman Reigns. How far we are now from those heady days...

Eric Bischoff On AEW not having an exclusive deal with WBD: “No, that was a head-scratcher for me. Because you know, I think the $170 million is less than what everybody was hoping for and was speculated about a year ago or six months ago. But it’s still a lot of money. And if I’m spending $170 million with a producer who’s supplying me with a lot of content, I don’t want that same content on competitive networks. I think for $170 million, I’m expecting exclusivity. So, the fact that AEW was able to get non-exclusive status is a head-scratcher for me.
Kinda answered your own question, didn’t you, Eric?
