Eric Bischoff On AEW not having an exclusive deal with WBD: “No, that was a head-scratcher for me. Because you know, I think the $170 million is less than what everybody was hoping for and was speculated about a year ago or six months ago. It literally wasn't. That's the one thing that's been consistent about Zarian's reporting, Eric. Ahh, you can't blame him. He was the guy that drafted up Hulk Hogan's WCW contract after all so his experience in negotiations is "Throw as much money as possible first time around so they have to say yes".

You know what would have saved CM Punk's AEW run? If he returned as a heel being protected by Riot Control and claimed he picked the members for them too.

Hang on, the hot rumor was always $1 billion for five years for everything on WBD, including PPVs. Or $200 million a year.
Now we've apparently got $170 million a year, without it being exclusive to WBD, and PPVs being a separate deal.
I fail to see how that could be considered a disappointment at all, Bischoff.

Bischoff has to find some way to spin it as a negative, thought he doesn't appear to be doing a particularly good job, from some of his clickbaity video titles I used to see I think I recall him being one of those that was adamant there was no deal coming.

If simulcasted Aew TV shows on MAX carry adverts that would bring in more revenue for WBD. If PPV's come at an extra cost adverts could allow them to offer them to the customer at a cheaper rate. However fans may not want any ads. Perhaps a compromise with minimal ads?

Live simulcast stuff on streaming still tends to have ads if the regular show does. Like whenever I watch MLB or NFL games on Amazon Prime, there's ad breaks just like there'd be if they were on regular TV.

Why is he so annoyed by AEW? Is it literally because he couldn't get a job there?

Bischoff has to keep the anti-AEW grift going. So he has to find someway to pretzel himself into believing that $170 million a year for AEW not counting a PPV deal is somehow bad. I'd bet he himself doesn't even believe what he says.

I'm sure there's also some bitterness on his part any time AEW do anything that makes them look like a better competitor to WWE than WCW or TNA were at times when he was involved. Between that, him not being hired, him never having particularly great taste in the first place and the attention he gets for shitting on AEW I kind of get it with Bischoff. The more puzzling grifters are people like Jimmy Korderas, seemingly just complete suck ups to WWE.

At this point "83 Weeks" is just the amount of time Bischoff has spend hating on AEW

You have to be in the onset of brain death to listen to stuff like this from Bischoff and think he's insightful. It's such wildly self-contradicting nonsense out of a guy whose sole reason to listen to is because you think he was at one point smart at business.

If Eric Bischoff doesn't stop with this bitching about AEW, he's going to end up naked and jacking it in San Diego...

Because you know, I think the $170 million is less than what everybody was hoping for and was speculated about a year ago or six months ago. But it’s still a lot of money. And if I’m spending $170 million with a producer who’s supplying me with a lot of content, I don’t want that same content on competitive networks. I think for $170 million, I’m expecting exclusivity. So, the fact that AEW was able to get non-exclusive status is a head-scratcher for me. Kinda answered your own question, didn’t you, Eric? Just tell me how to refinance my mortgage I bought from a money mark, Eric.

So nothing has officially been announced yet? Just 'well informed' speculation?
Great.
Just don't touch my Dynamite on Wednesday nights timeslot.
