Bischoff actually believed this hahaha
And you know Bischoff will still go on his show and present it as fact, even after Thurston himself said it was bullshit.

Apparently Bischoff may have just said that the $185 million is just Meltzer spin around the same time Variety updated their article to say that lol

This man is almost seventy years old and he's using the random troll bait of some guy with 30 twitter followers to win a slapfight with a journalist he doesn't like. Only wrestling. Only f***in' wrestling.

I heard that Khan bought out the Wrestling Observer and that's why AEW gets good match ratings every show. Khan makes Ospreay personally go to Dave's house with a fruit basket once a month to keep those 5* ratings coming.

Watching Konuwa, Bischoff, Thurston, Konnan, and the like finally reap what they f***ing sow for making "Wanting AEW to die" their identity for the last few years or more, I gotta say, is quality entertainment to say the least!

I don't think it's fair to include Thurston in that category. Thurston and Pollock are pretty even keeled. The others? Fair game.

The Meltzer/Bischoff beef always makes me laugh, don't know how well Bischoff does in response but I've seen Dave properly murk Bisch with some very sassy tweets.

He's reeled it back a bit, but after he and Pollack had an interview with TK they didn't like he lost some rationality for a bit.

I think people need to be careful to not equate some occasional constructive criticism with "grifting," but I suppose it can happen to the best of them.

Icy/Hot is going into mass production starting today in order to help heal the backs of everyone who's engaging in massive goalpost moving in reaction to the AEW deal.

There was a time frame where he started doing some really questionable data stuff with kind of baffling charts that really didn't read like they had much correlation or function, and he alos dropped some gems like "Which company is more like 2019 WWE?" between AEW and WWE, with a third option only of "Show Results". Show Results won, but it was a very specific kind of engagement fishing that only exists one-sidedly in the conversation of trying to paint AEW as being in some kind of ultimate, inescapable creative slump as people have tried to paint it. Versus WWE right now which as we all know is COOKING and RED HOT and OBJECTIVELY GOOD, and couldn't possibly be compared to 2019 WWE.

Not on the level of Bischoff/Konnan/Disco and Twitter hate engagement accounts, but fair enough. I went through his X account a bit just now but I don't know that I went past August.

Lots of people on the F4WOnline board were clowning on Thurston when he did that. Even Dave himself said that comparing AEW to 2019 WWE was ridiculous. Yeah Thurston was definitely trying to get onto the grift train with that.

I think he was just a case of getting caught up in things. WrestleTix got caught up in it for a bit and eventually just put a post out saying that objectively cannot say if AEW is struggling with crowd size cause of how many tickets were distributed.
