I heard that Khan bought out the Wrestling Observer and that's why AEW gets good match ratings every show. Khan makes Ospreay personally go to Dave's house with a fruit basket once a month to keep those 5* ratings coming.

He's reeled it back a bit, but after he and Pollack had an interview with TK they didn't like he lost some rationality for a bit. Good to know. I honestly wasn't aware of anything too snarky. I think people need to be careful to not equate some occasional constructive criticism with "grifting," but I suppose it can happen to the best of them. |

Lots of people on the F4WOnline board were clowning on Thurston when he did that. Even Dave himself said that comparing AEW to 2019 WWE was ridiculous. I think he was just a case of getting caught up in things. WrestleTix got caught up in it for a bit and eventually just put a post out saying that objectively cannot say if AEW is struggling with crowd size cause of how many tickets were distributed. |
