C'mon, TK, you got punked (pun intended) by your own locker room. Vince may be an absolute monster of a human being with little to no redeeming qualities but I never once faulted him for being the boss. I mean, he was the guy that manipulated a lot of the beef between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart by saying one side didn't want to do something with the other and let himself be manipulated enough to cause the screwjob to happen instead of just abiding by a clause he agreed to. And that's the highest profile cases of being a carny, a dozen shoot interviews can tell you he's more manipulative asshole than actual boss. Also, this new show was probably going to happen anyway. For all the speculation we had about the company's future, WBD love them, have them involved in cross-promotion on almost a monthly basis and management speaks highly of them whenever the chance comes off. So yeah, this show was always going to happen whether Punk threw a chair at Matt Jackson or not.

If ROH is taped before Collision, then Tony Khan needs to have a meeting with both Cabana and Punk. They need to make peace.

Might as well send the Outcasts over, and boom, AEW: NXT.

Plus end of the day, if you have guys under long term contracts and don't just want to release them (Andrade being a key here) and you have a chance at more tv time, why not use the opportunity given to make it work? And FWIW I get people not being thrilled with the optics, but I also don't fault Tony for using this as a chance to make it work

I only ask for two favors :
AEW Champions can appear on both Dynamite and Collision.
ROH Champions can appear (occasionally) on Collision.

I hope he wears shutter shades to the next press conference. Now I want Rick Ross as the GM of Collision.

Vince did lean on Shawn in the lean years and let him get away with more than others would as far as his attitude goes, but he also showed many times that he had no trouble putting his foot down when he had to (firing Warrior immediately after his Summerslam 91 match comes to mind).

It’s better to have them wrestle at a time when other people in the company might not want to (which is a Saturday, some talent either might want to relax or work an indie show over the weekend so it won’t be just TEAM PUNK vs. TEAM ELITE or whatever) and worst case scenario, they don’t work out, you don’t renew the contracts and that’s it.

Vince may be an absolute monster of a human being with little to no redeeming qualities but I never once faulted him for being the boss. The 1988 Survivor Series tag team match was booked to have the Rougeau Brothers eliminated early so they could leave the building. This was done just to prevent the Bulldogs from trying to jump them after their last match with the company. And of course this was after they’d already had altercations in the locker room before.

I get that some want to dunk on Tony, and again I get it in a lot of ways, but is using examples of Vince from 20 to 30 years ago if not more really the best way of showing how much better of a boss he is? Just food for thought

Just food for thought Less being a better boss and more better at putting his foot down. Tony seems more compassionate as a boss. There are more recent examples too. Del Rio was fired after assaulting the colleague backstage. Of course, I’m sure there are instances where Vince wasn’t as good at putting his foot down too (I know Shawn was a pain in the mid-90s and someone cited a Rougeau Brothers/Dynamite Kidd incident).

I just hope they at least keep the TNT and TBS titles on their respective stations. Have every other champion on both shows.

Fair enough. I just find it funny how pro or con every example citing Vince for everything is back from before or at the start of the attitude era. Most of the stuff since then? Is Vince saying I'm doing what I want to do whether people like it or not. And again that's not a defense of Tony, again I think people disapproving of him bringing people like Punk and Andrade (and even Jeff Hardy) back is fair especially when any punishment they've received they've been injured. But I don't think getting Collison and putting Punk on it is the "Tony is a bitch" moment many seem to think it is.
