A hard brand split because two parties had a fight and haven't made up is the most WCW thing WCW never did. Yeah, it's likely going to cause further problems down the line. Dividing up the locker room only caters to the problem, not solve it.

Hard brand split but the brands sharing the titles is absolutely goddamn moronic. Either don't do a brand split or make the shows actually able to stand alone. The only reason not to is, "But prestige!" and that argument's always been completely dumb.

Liking the Nitro throwback logo, even if this hard brand split experiment doesn't work out.

What would put all this to rest would be The Bucks and Omega showing up after FTR welcome back Punk and a feud starts running through to All In.

With that roster, they should've called it AEW Volatile.

I’d like to put the case forward again that the “hard split” thing will end up as something spiced up by publications and it’ll end up being a case of mostly “Do you want to work Saturday nights or not?”
Like, unless every US indie and international indie decides to not do shows on Saturdays ever again so it ends up being more people can work Saturdays (i.e. Swerve working Defy shows, Uno doing Canadian indies, Emi and others working Deadlock Pro-Wrestling) but then that’d be like trying to ask for concerts not to happen because MTV’s bringing back Total Request Live.

Yes, I’d love to see a scripted wrestling match where the entire draw is “these guys dislike each other for real, unlike everyone else on the show who are only pretending to.” It would really enhance the drama, bro, I swear to gawd.

If it wasn't a split, would the WB press release really have gone with Miro, Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade as the only talent they named in the press release? No disrespect to them, but they don't have the name value of the likes of Mox, Jericho, Danielson, Omega etc I can definitely see the rosters being adjusted as things go forward, but this is 100% a hard split at the top of the card, at least.

To me it sounds like their split will be similar to the WWE brand split before the draft. 90% of the talent worked one show. Like if you were Chad Gable, you never really had to think about which show you were going to. It was RAW. For the champions and certain big names, they'll go back and forth as needed. Just don't hold a draft or formalize it.

I don't like brand splits but I'll give this a go since I have more faith in AEW than WWE. But if they end up with their own champions I'm probably done

I didn’t say it wasn’t a split, just nowhere near the split being hyped up. Some of the people you mentioned like Mox and Jericho work indies or perform in bands so hyping them up to be consistently on the show doesn’t really make the same amount of sense as hyping people who will be there on the show.

Surprised the people like the look and logo, personally it looks ugly and outdated.
The Roster looks solid. I`m gonna be sad im gonna miss Miro and Powerhouse, and OC if he is not there only because of the championship.

If ROH is taped before Collision, then Tony Khan needs to have a meeting with both Cabana and Punk. They need to make peace. That would require TK actually acting like a boss. And Punk to not be a giant abusive manchild

Whatever the "brand split" status is (realizing now how much I dislike that expression, geez), I just don't want there to be two world titles.
Go ahead and have separate midcard titles, maybe different gimmick titles if you want to do that, but separate top titles for any division suuuuuuuucks. One top men's belt, one top women's belt, one top set of tag belts, any more just makes your top belts feel meaningless.

Because splitting an entire roster is going to work out just fine? Not advocating for that either. But I have zero interest in seeing a worked-shoot feud involving the 44-going-on-14 egomaniac and his two lapdogs.

Hopefully this leads to more of that very stacked roster being used consistently. The Women especially need more focus.
