Yeah, the more I think about it, it's not like you're forced to use it. You can still ignore it and play the game using traditional strategy so "gamebreaking" was probably an overreaction. Quite frankly, I'll all for any mode that makes a game more accessible to people regardless of skill level

I could kind of look past Speardovich and Claymorton, but they've also renamed Frogfucious to Frog Sage which is just stupid.

Probably, though seems like far and wide they've largely used the Woolsey script as the basis for the dialogue.

In regards to THAT invisible block, it seems like they both added a Toad in front of the door and made it more clearly a platform. Though the real question is if they'll keep the invisible wall there that's there in the original and is actually what keeps you from getting it.

Something I'm really impressed by is that the aesthetic design still keeps that sense of your mind filling in the gaps of the setting. Its hard to describe, but there's a sense of quiet mystery to Mario RPG and that you're only getting a glimpse of the broader world out there. A lot of 2D games excelled at this, as did Seven Stars. Even with the more detailed graphics in this one though it still feels like there's so much more you're not seeing and that's wonderful.

Woolsey's localizations always took certain, uh, liberties that also had to work around Nintendo of America's censorship policies at the time.

I mean it was never a particularly hard game to begin with... and evne just finding the lazy shells basically makes you invincible.

I do kind of hope the game has an unannounced unlockable hard mode or something. I don't mind that this one looks easier, since the game's already very easy, but it does feel weird to add all of this new stuff while also putting in an easy mode besides that.

Granted more than anything what I want is to be able to unlock the original, but I really doubt it, especially with the OG soundtrack being an option.
