It's not a huge deal but I do think making Exor shorter combined with making the castle wider makes him look a lot less menacing.

Remake's including a bestiary, an auto run option, an easy mode, and the option to use the original soundtrack.

How can they make the game any easier? It is pathetically easy to beat, and I say that as someone who considers this their favorite game. Only hard things I can think of are; The curtain dodging in Booster's Tower...which has an alternate solution if you can't do it. Not knowing the password in the Sunken Ship. Selling important items, which honestly is on the player if they aren't paying attention. Climbing the vines to Nimbusland. Some of the puzzles in Bowser's Keep. I mean, there's some trivial things that are difficult like missing the first secret chest in the Mushroom Kingdom or trying to get the Masher, but those aren't vital to the progress of the game. In the original, if you die, you maintain any EXP progress no matter how far back you saved, which means you will always be stronger next time. Coins are pathetically useless in the game considering you can max your coins to 999 from zero in less than 20 minutes, and Frog coins aren't that hard to get. You can literally just blunt force your way to victory no matter how terrible of a gamer you are. I mean, of all the main line Mario games, I have a hard time thinking of an easier game than this.

I can grant it can be challenging in spots if you don't like completely understand its mechanics or plan for things - I know as a kid I struggled with Bundt and Megasmilax since the former just kind of is unrelenting in attacking you while having an odd gimmick that disincentivizes healing and the latter can lock you into a perpetual Petal Blast loop - but yeah, it's a very easy game when you know how it ticks and there are already plenty of ways to break it between some of the insane gear available and how busted Peach and Geno are. The only thing I can really think of is maybe they're doing that so they have the freedom to rebalance the rest of the game to make it more difficult.

For a lot of kids, Super Mario RPG was their first real RPG. And while the mechanics are pretty easy for the most part, they can still be imposing to a complete neophyte to the genre.
Things I could see an easy mode doing for this game:
Lower HP and stats for enemies Quicker XP gain for leveling Gaining all leveling bonuses per level instead of just choosing one More forgiving windows for timing mechanics like bonus damage on attacks, Mario's Jumps, etc. Less button mashing required for maximum effectiveness on stuff like Mario's fireball Losing a battle lets you restart it instead of getting a Game Over and reloading the last save.
A couple of those could also be accessibility options for people with disabilities.

If you rush through it, you can get to Smithy's Foundry by the time you reach Level 18. Then you gotta grind a while to get up to at least 25 to beat Smithy.

Some info came out on how Psychopath Thought Peek works in this game and it kind of gives me kind of mixed opinions. Definitely indicates the game is retranslated, which I'm okay with but I'm hoping it keeps the original in mind as opposed to going strictly more faithful to the Japanese version. Additionally I like the increased level of information from it, does feel a lot more useful than the HP and nothing else approach of the OG one. One thing that seems iffy to me though is that Wiggler's stats aren't changed at all. Was kind of hoping they'd readjust the normal mode to be a bit harder to account for the splash damage, though being fair that's more of a concern for boss battles than for stray fights anyway. Additionally if this is directly tied to the bestiary I'm kind of wondering how that's going to work, since it'd suuuuck having to use Mallow in every fight just to fill that out.

Adding post-game challenges in the form of Hard Mode boss fights is a big positive. Things like bestiaries and easy modes mean nothing to me, and updated graphics and sound are all well and good, but actual new content like new characters, enemies, weapons or stages will always be what I look for the most when it comes to remakes. If they announce that they've added a new stage or side-quest that wasn't in the original I'll be all set.

Revealed that you can switch the background music from the remix to the classic version on the SNES.

He still has it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} And also still forgot it. Also, the blurb talking about Culex on the site implies that there are other stones you can find for an even crazier super boss, so really curious what that'll be like. The general theories people are batting around are either a 3D Culex or Sephiroth but not sure I buy either of those myself.

Mack the Knife has been renamed Clamorton. IDK, they could've just called him Jack Knife or something.

Turns out they've actually added being able to change party members mid-battle. Seems like a huge change to not really advertise.

Can change them but can't attack or use items after doing so.
