Kingston's writing off many things from his bucket list he never thought he'd do 10 years ago. Don't blame him for doing The G1 instead

Kingston's writing off many things from his bucket list he never thought he'd do 10 years ago. Don't blame him for doing The G1 instead Yeah, not only is he a champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling, not only is he getting a crack at the G1 Climax, but the crowd in Japan absolutely loves this man. You got to feel great for him.

I could say I want ROH to continue mainly due to being an old school fan of it and wanting its legacy to continue, but the sheer practical reason why I want it to stick around is that there are paychecks going out to talent right now that might not otherwise be getting them.
ROH being preserved has meant more jobs and more opportunities for people, whether it's young people getting some developmental work, or ROH names who might've found themselves without a spot when the company went on hiatus at the end of 2021. Yes, some of the main names would have or already have found a place in AEW (RUSH, Brody King, Mark Briscoe, Willow, etc.), but there wouldn't be room for everyone at the inn; it's not an indictment of their talents, but AEW simply has a gigantic roster, there wouldn't be space for everyone. Instead, having them around means they brought back Prince Nana full time, Shane Taylor's back, Silas Young's appearing, Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus, Cheeseburger, Trish Adora, Miranda Alize, etc., all people who've benefitted from there being a separate show. Plus, with Dark/Elevation canceled via the latest WB deal, it's been a good spot for wrestlers like the Workhorsemen, Diamante, and others to have more to do. Hell, Athena vs. Kiera Hogan was @#$%ing awesome, and it happened on ROH weekly shows, so you're still getting some strong matches/stories in there, too.
Perfect? Not close to it; the build to this is clearly not 100%, the lack of a TV spot for them from WB sucks, and the "no clue if this'll be a 60 minute show, 90 minutes, or 2 hours" week to week isn't how I prefer my wrestling. But I'm willing to wait things out, hope they get a better distribution method, and take solace in the fact their PPVs since the relaunch have been great, but in the meantime mostly like the fact that a lot of these wrestlers I was afraid might get frozen out after 2021 (especially with other "mid-major" and smaller scale promotions taking steps backwards since the pandemic) are getting paid, and there are more jobs around then there otherwise would be.

So to recap:
- Intended for Kingston/Cesaro II, that changes when he goes to New Japan. - Mark replaces Eddie which takes him off of a different plan and he ends up needing be replaced at the last minute. - The TV Title situation presumably had issues with injuries and/or people not being available. - The Women's World Title match had to play out longer than anticipated.
Some of those are errors in planning while others are things that you can't foresee but it does show that this PPV had more planning than you would think. Some stuff just didn't work out.

The more I think about it the more I think Collision really changed paths for Tony. After Collision became rumored people like Claudio, Yuta, Eddie (though he was injured too), and Joe started to become more focuses on AEW tv than they were. I stick by my stance that I'd probably get the belts off of anybody who primarily show up on Dynamite/Collision and get more of an ROH exclusive roster... which again I do think was the original plan with some cross over but injuries/Collision changed that.
I do think the original plan for the ROH tag titles was clearly to give Top Flight seasoning and Dante getting hurt changed that.
Enough talent both under contract and not under contract to make it work but much like with DoN I think the loaded summer hurt ROH in some ways

So Claudio vs PAC for the ROH World Title seems like it's gonna be the main event of this show if Blood and Guts is the indication
And might sell me on this show lol

Claudio vs PAC Athena vs Willow Shibata vs Garcia Lucha Bros vs Kingdom vs Best Friends vs Aussie Open Well damn, that's a heck of a card right there. And Joe vs. Taylor or Castle. Definitely feeling a bit better about having bought tickets yesterday before the world title match announcement. Do want to see a full card announcement, though; I know the show starts at 7, but my girlfriend's got work kind of early the next day so I'm hoping to see if I can plan around it ending at about 10. Guessing there'll be a six-man belts defense, and maybe they open the show with a Six Man Mayhem scramble. Thought they might go Four Corner Survival, but the four-way for the tag belts kind of fudges that.

Interesting that the strikes freed Joe up... I guess this might be why they were planning on Starks vs Punk, I wonder if things change around a bit.

This one could be real interesting. I bet Pac attacks Gravity after the match saying “Do you remember me now?”
