Feel like it needs to be asked at this point. I wanted to use the word associated with Samoa Joe in his WWE days but I’ll stop just short of that.
So is Swerve just a loser or do AEW have big plans for him eventually?

It would be nice to see him win an important match for a change.

It would be nice to see him win an important match for a change. I love that they strapped him up with all this muscle just to lose when it matters lol. Swerve is a guy that they should be elevating as hard as possible. He's got all the tools for success and has possible crossover potential. I don't think AEW is squandering him, but it feels like there is no hurry to push him which I feel is a mistake. He should be getting that early MJF push where he is picking up important wins and fairly protected.

Is he a loser? No
Is AEW probably missing the boat by not giving him some belt ASAP? Yes I think so.
Is Swerve doing a good job of getting himself and Mogul Embassy over? Yes
It's a mixed bag for sure

I wouldn't go that far but he's certainly not where he should be and his stable isn't doing much for me. He needs that big win over Keith Lee

Feel like if they really cared about him and Keith Lee at all they would have bothered to have their feud reach its proper resolution months ago instead of just having it fall to the wayside for a goddamn eternity for no particular reason.

I don't think so. He's a former champion and generally only loses to top stars like Darby and Orange. He's in a position where guys like Sammy and Jungle Boy were for a couple of years. Generally protected but hasn't broken through yet. I imagine Tony has a plan for when that is given he's not a top guy and still gets on TV more often than not.

And very importantly, Swerve is 32 years old and apparently with AEW for the long haul, given public comments he's made. He's a long term investment. You don't let a long term investment in wrestling wait too long, lest you risk them losing their luster (and yes, him being 32 means you don't get quite as many years to wait as you do with the guys in their 20s), but he's probably about to make Darby's life hell over that ending and they wouldn't be putting him in these spots if the plan wasn't for him to be a key player moving forward. Dude's going to be more than fine, I think.

There was a particular reason, Keith's still dealing with Long COVID aftermath, and I think it curbed the feud due to the fact he was still working his way back to a better physical state, which he does now seem to be in at least

Dude's going to be more than fine, I think. I say this a lot and simply get shot down, but there are a lot of examples of AEW talent who lose for a stretch of time, and it's because they're getting those losses in now, before they get a push I don't know why people take Battle Royal losses with such a heft to them... Swerve's made the final two of two of them and just barely lost, any other match he has also just barely lost lately, I'd say the only real pin on Swerve that wasn't a tactical rollup was Tanahashi who is well a legend of the sport Orange still has the International Title and he's still in the orbit of Darby/Swerve... I still feel like he's within proper reach of still taking that belt when all is said and done.

In all seriousness, not really. Him coming up short in two battle royals and the title match against Orange close together is maybe too much, but he feels like he's in that "we have plans for you to move up gradually," which can be a bummer as I'd be fine with them giving him all the belts like tomorrow, but I don't feel like he's being booked into oblivion or anything. I think if he didn't pair up with Trench and Parker and if the Lee feud had more of a payoff (wonder if health issues may have come into play there) his recent losses wouldn't feel as big of deals.

He's not a loser, but he's not nearly as cared for in his angles/feuds as I think he should be. Give him some actual direction, because the people give a shit about him.
