Remember when the actual main event of a ppv was Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch v Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans?
Dark times.

Kinda crazy that the Ucey Hot shit was 2019, feels like an eternity ago
And despite how much of an idiot Dax can be god was it painful to watch FTR go through that booking...

Last time 2019 was mentioned I got flashbacks to Aleister Black’s ‘we don’t want to job you out but also we don’t feel like actually using you’ so he just sat in his closet masterbatorium and asked people to PICK. A. FIGHT. with him. But this post reminded me of when reigning Nascar champion Kyle Busch came back to Raw almost exactly a decade after he guest hosted and called Kofi “Kofi Johnston” to win the 24/7 title. Fellow Nascar personality Michael Waltrip slowly and seductively removing his jacket to reveal he was a referee still haunts my dreams

It was this and the back shaving thing, right? And then it just kinda stopped. Felt like they were REALLY about to go full tilt until somebody probably mentioned “We’re probably already gift-wrapping these guys to AEW hard enough as it is, any more of this will openly make them martyrs to our own audience”.

Main roster 2019 was literal ass.
NXT was f***ing cracking though.

I was at the Raw after Mania where everyone thought The Undisputed Era was going to debut and run in during the main event. Instead we got The Bar and the crowd turned on the show.
Aldo did The Usos actually do anything on Raw? I seem to remember one got injured and they didn't turn up again until 2020 to help Roman in against Corbin and friends.

OK, we have the feud with The Revival, you know, back-shaving and icy hot and all that... They don't actually beat them for the tag belts surprisingly enough, the next champs are seemingly Gallows and Anderson, and then... after that match at the end of July, something happens because neither have another match again for the rest of the year, and that something IS... One of Jimmy's DUIs. Literally first SmackDown of the new year (2020) they return.

Also the era when their bright idea for freshly coronated Becky 2 Belts, Wrestlemania main eventer was.... a three-month feud with Lacey Evans, previously seen walking down the ramp and back up again.

What would be the peak of 2019? Survivor Series & Wargames maybe? That was a great weekend helped out by NXT being involved. Even if Vince did try to ruin Walter early.
As much as the Brock v Seth stuff was a bit crap the main event of Summerslam was pretty excellent. Until WWE decided to unleash the Fiend on Seth and ruin his face run. His heel stuff towards the end of the year was pretty decent though.

Seth going from beating Brock and Braun clean then suddenly turning into a cowering crybaby when he feuded with Fiend was one of the reasons his face run died a painful death.

Kofimania simultaneously made it the best and the worst year, booking into Fall felt especially mean-spirited.
I was working on a theory for a while that they were deliberately presenting an awful product to convey how little of a threat they perceived AEW, but that would just be crazy, right?

Remember when WWE tried to push Seth as the top babyface? I think this killed any sort of aura of he had as such.
