Lacey Evans getting released today has me thinking about when WWE posted a video of her in the Performance Center before she even had a ring name just doing military instructor stuff and how that isn't even close to the most random early build up that a PC prospect was given, especially compared to one unfortunate man.
Lars Sullivan's hand. The hand that will one day change this business. Those were actual f***ing words that Triple H tweeted along with a photo of Lars' hand in 2013 -- less than a year after he was signed. I will never forget about this as long as I live because I genuinely don't know if you could possibly make a worse call than that. This f***ing rookie with big hands who has only been here for a couple of months? He's the one.

I think the king of this has to be Hade Vansen because he lasted exactly one vignette and never even debuted for the damn company Like they planned a feud with Taker and Taker must have taken one look at this guy and said "Are you f***ing kidding?" lmfao

Also given Indus Sher have once again disappeared, I think this has made it into the category pretty easily at this point:

Savio Vega also, as of 2011, still owes them money for it.

They built The Boogeyman up huge, just for him to uh... really not much in the end lol He got a ton of vignettes, and then even got that famous moment of scaring Cena, even won the King Booker feud basically but... they dropped him pretty quickly. He's still pretty remembered and even still pops up every now and again as a novelty act or cameo but given the look and everything, and how hard he was pushed in the one 2K game, they had major plans for him and it just kinda all stalled out because he could not really work anywhere close to how the character was portrayed I guess.

Not for the best reasons, but Kharma. I thought the whole breaking the heads off the action figure/barbie dolls was a pretty awesome way to show that she was different and was going to wreck those personas...Man what a missed opportunity

I would argue that Boogeyman, sure, didn't become huge, but he also wasn't what I'd call a bust or embarrassment. Just kind of a modest success.

I will say he might be one of the few wrestlers I can remember that won a feud against a major talent like King Booker and it... went nowhere... like he just about vanished after that.

When One Man Gang re-debuted as Akeem the African Dream I'm gonna say that one's aged horribly for a number of reasons lol

When One Man Gang re-debuted as Akeem the African Dream I'm gonna say that one's aged horribly for a number of reasons lol It was bad back then. I was maybe 12 when it happened. All of the sudden the dude that was just killing people left and right in UWF was dressed in this odd outfit and dancing like he was having a spastic fit.

Kizarny.
Hyped up for like 3 months. Had 2 matches and a backstage segment and then dumped.

How many months and years did they hype Brakkus for before he got killed in brawl for all?

Anytime a widely disliked or underwhelming wrestler re-debuts in a major American company after time on the indies and/or wrestling internationally and people are all "he's actually good now". They rarely are.
Tensai and Del Rio being the biggest examples.
That's to say people are always wrong, often they did have a good run somewhere but it still all falls apart once they're back on TV for some reason (not always Vince).

Trytan was properly hyped as TNA's next big monster at a time when they didn't put all that much hype into their debuts and just disappeared after a non-runner of a feud with Monty Brown.
