He'd never had to deal with a situation like this I think given everything that happened, I can't BLAME him for trying to make it work again, but the fact Punk didn't just screw up, he made things worse, worse in the WORST way he could have? Yeah, I'd say Tony learned a lesson, it was a harsh one, but sometimes you need to. It's easy to say what he should have done, because none of us are in a position where you also want to try and keep everyone including higher ups who wanted the guy, happy. He tried, it failed Now you make sure this never happens again, though given just how CM Punk was at the end of this, I feel like it's gonna be very hard to replicate this again... Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you said. Recent events just made me think of this quote from a year ago.

True, I don't think even Punk's biggest detractors could have predicted how this would have ended either... over car glass lmfao

I remember before Brawl Out I pointed out that Punk was the same age then (so in 2022) as Michael Hayes was during Plane Ride From Hell. Now I found that noteworthy considering how current and over Punk was in 2022 and how over-the-hill Hayes was in 2002 and also based on looks, but when it comes to getting into trouble Punk has closened the gap by now and will likely end up with a worse reputation than Hayes.

Ok, so Punk was happy after the Jack encounter because he knew he was going to get fired but didnt care about, but I wonder if he is still happy after learning that he got no payment for his release unlike his buddy Steel...
I'm just bringing this back again because this is hilarious. So Punk has been personally speaking to SRS for months and feeding him stories. I think most of us guessed that Punk (or people on his behalf) were constantly running to the dirtsheets and SRS has just confirmed it. Tremendous. Accusations really are confessions.

I do think Khan should have fired Punk after the press conference, but he does deserve credit here. It’s pretty historically rare for a guy causing trouble (or worse) to get fired. The JBLs of the world got to be bullies and assholes forever without repercussions.

If reports are to be believed, half of the reason that CM Punk melted down as severely as he did is the fact that the Elite were content to just ignore him and let him dig his own grave and force Tony Khan's hand. Of course they are probably thrilled to see him go, but the fact that he actually got into another physical altercation backstage and got himself fired is Punk's fault, and Punk's fault alone. We seem to be at a point where Punk was so clearly and objectively in the wrong in the situation that the Elite are being criticized for, quite literally, doing nothing. Nothing makes a narcissist more angry than being flat-out ignored. So is this the Punk Scrum Thread now? I tried to do a Thread #3, to no avail.

A bit late, but hey, two months ago I was bleeding internally to the point where the doctor told me to get confined in the hospital ASAP. I'm not that much of a happy camper right now, so I'll keep this short.
I noticed that a lot of grief in threads like this involves an endless back and forth between some posters. In particular, cjb and Rick Styles. So that ends now, period. You two, no replying to each other directly or indirectly because you two can't play nice in class. One or the other, or both, has blocked each other at some point yet that didn't seem to stop things.
There's precedent for this, as mods have been known to ban people from posting in threads. So, that's what we're gonna do. Don't reply to each other, don't make comments regarding things that one or the other had said. If not, a suspension or even a ban is in order. Perhaps the latter since both of you have been suspended before, and neither have taken that to heart.
I don't care who's right here. You two argue, over and over and over again and this drags others to counter argue and make things worse.
This is non negotiable. Anyone who quotes me, PMs me, likes this post shall get the punishment/reward of being replied to with random VTuber clips.

I wonder if SRS feels comfortable outing him due to it being unlikely Punk is going to be a major player in wrestling ever again, or what. SRS has been pretty adamant on all of his livestreams how much he personally hates covering the CM Punk drama but openly admits that the last year of CM Punk has been live altering for him and the people of Fightful with what it's meant to subs. But SRS also said yesterday on one of the streams he thought it was more likely Punk showed up at Impact than WWE (30 percent to 20 percent), and also insinuated that Punk being in AEW cost them a few people who were considering leaving WWE (said he wasn't saying it was the reason they didn't come, but a few bigger names flat out said they didn't want to work with Punk so he's pretty sure it was a factor)

It's actually amazing how the complete spiral of CM Punk started when he refused to pay Colt Cabana's legal fees after the trial Like you can trace almost every terrible thing this dude has done since, off of the fallout from that trial and the complete fracture of that friendship. The dude has not been the same since, and has made it a disturbing trend to try and screw over Cabana since.

I realize I’m one of the very few huge Stevie Richards fans in the world but I’m always bummed that people forget he took JBL’s goddamn head off on the Smackdown after ONS.

He bitched out Bryce for booking him on the same flight as Colt?
Man, f*** Phil Brooks. I hope every can of Pepsi he opens is flat.
