It's gotta be a combo of keeping Dwayne happy and Vince finding the "My hole!!!" line hilarious(admittedly that was a great line). Damn you RD Reynolds! (he just inducted that this past week)

A few weeks after losing one of the most beloved wrestlers of the past decade to a COVID-related heart attack, Vince rehires a ****ing anti-vaxxer. Shame on him. Political leanings stuff we can't discuss aside....(and I of course don't know how far to that side Vince is, personally...) Surprised? Same place Retribution was created in the heart of the summer of 2020, after all. There was also the heel all-African-American stable just so happening to contain members whose initials form B-L-M, but that's up for debate as to whether or not that was a coincidence. Iraqi War angle from 1991? Wrestlers dying in general mean nothing...see: Eddie- and Bearersploitation. No such thing as Too Soon in this business, basically. As for being unsafe, as I said, how many times did they give Mabel and Ahmed another chance?

I imagine her being signed back really has nothing to do with Rock and is more coming from the same, "Look, we need to beef up the roster, this is someone physically imposing with built-in credibility," place that re-signing Braun did but like, even on his worst day Braun is way safer and way more talented than Nia is.

And with Braun (which, may I add, a lot of his greenness was due to him being rushed out the system for no real good reason), he had to learn quickly to be safe when he stiffed the one man you probably shouldn't stiff. I also couldn't imagine anyone who did that with Nia would have lasted in the company longer, especially since none of them have the history of being the top guy and a big time draw as Brock.

How much you wanna bet that when Nia stiffs someone so bad they clock her right back the moment she goes behind the curtain she starts to whine and bitch like she's the victim?!

Not sure if it's because of company reasons or other reasons, but Asuka has been defending Nia on Twitter.

One thing we have to remember about Nia is that, well, she’s well liked in the locker room.
When she put out her accusations towards the company firing her during her agreed leave and especially towards an unnamed staff member being suggestive towards her, almost every woman on the main roster either liked, commented or subtweeted about it on social media, which is not something they do for everyone.
When she got fired, a lot of people responded with how much she meant which, again, not everyone gets.

Yeah, I'm personally not interested in Nia (and that anti-vax shit can f*** off right now) but she's liked by her peers and they all know shit happens as Asuka's saying here. Even Charlotte, someone people thought hated Nia due to that shoot they had, is great friends with her IRL and even helped Nia lose weight according to Nia. Like, yeah she's rough in the ring but us as fans don't mirror what these wrestlers think.
I don't care for her stuff but damn, her friends do.

Yeah, but to balance that out, a lot of ire towards Nia outside of her being unsafe is because her opinions on certain sensitive topics...kinda really suck. Anti-vaxx and comparing wearing a mask to being a victim of the war in Ukraine, just as a tip of the iceberg kinda deal.

But even with that stuff, compare how much she got respected when she got fired to everything that happened with Lacey Evans. There was barely anyone I saw saying goodbye when she left and she doesn’t exactly have the cleanest of records in opinions, either. I’m just saying, we have to take all that into consideration somewhat about why she was brought back along with the fact she’s someone they can just put back on TV and people will know (which, even if it wasn’t his decision, played very much into HHH’s talent recruitment since he gained the power Vince took from him).

And you also have to keep in mind that the people with all these opinions on sensitive topics… 99% certain they’re not “terminally on” beating that drum literally every second of the day in the locker room, in the gym, in the showers, whatever. They’re able to co-exist and make friends and bond over other things that aren’t politics. This is something that’s been rolling around in my mind for a bit mostly in relation to Karrion Kross, who as I understood was in a similar kind of rabbit hole with spicy political takes, but all I seem to see is him and Scarlett hanging around with Shotzi and having loads of other friends. Like, either they’re not on ALL the time and people can overlook stuff… Or a whole bunch of internet favourites are better at keeping that stuff on the downlow (see also Liv Morgan and Valhalla being friendly).

Asuka was one of two people that Nia had good chemistry with before her knees went out on her, the other being Ronda.

I should make it clear, I don’t like Nia and probably never will, nor would it be easy for me to still be friends with someone like her for various reasons but I only said what I said because, well, it’s true. And unfortunate we find out these things in drips sometimes but that’s how people can be. It’d be easy to say cynically that a lot of pro wrestlers are dumb and get hit in the head so much, they take more things easily that they shouldn’t but it’s also a point to say that people have to spend time with others so they see them as full people rather than being able to end friendships and not have to spend as much time after a certain period as most jobs are.

So fans have to have a similar experience or be in the same profession to have an opinion that she is clearly careless and reckless in the ring? No one as far as I can tell is talking anything about her that isn't out there publicly....no one is crticizing her as a person (unless it is about her views on certain issues). Asuka can defend her friend as strongly as she wants to but it wont change that her friend in ring is a reckless dangerous oaf of a wrestler.

Rhea Ripley vs Trish is another feud they could definitely do, although I think Trish may be done with her return now?
