Outside of the dumb posts declaring this a huge victory or whatever from WWE Stans that have literally fused with their computer chairs, can't really say AEW didn't do well here off their normal night, against a stacked WWE show and Baseball Playoffs, only being .4 off the demo especially
People are gonna get on Tony Khan for talking shit but in the end it seemed to help get attention on the show, he knew what he was doing and if it helped get them more viewers and drum up interest he'll take it as a win and whatever people are gonna huck at him for, it did its job
Take solace in the fact that WWE cares about AEW so much they will put on an NXT Legends and All Stars night just because they shifted nights period. Because that's what it showed, more than anything else.

In the end I think everyone won (except for THAT segment/situation on AEW)
I do think it's going to be a never ending battle between this "loaded the show" perception and the other side of the argument that is saying for WWE that with just a few starters and the bench you can best the competitions A squad outside of their element.
The crap is being spun both ways (and that is all it really is) and all I can say is i hope it continues because it will keep raising both games

Hard to judge with what it was up against but the early numbers don't read too great for Edge as a needle mover

The demo was close. I was shocked to see the viewership gap. It is what it is and back to normal night next week.

1.5 mil watching wrestling on a Tuesday night, only wrestling fans could spin that in a way to shit on wrestling. Glad to see both companies doing numbers, the hot company got a bigger number which shouldn't surprise anyone.

My favorite part of all of this is that the biggest ratings drop occurred during a Gallus match

I think the thing I'm most curious about is what the DVR figures will be. I wonder how many who watched one show live will choose to watch the other show a day or two later. Or how many people just weren't paying attention to advertising and forgot about Dynamite being on last night. Could be some really interesting numbers.
Live viewership gap is about what I expected, though the demo is pretty close.

So we had a bunch of promotion, some real good matches, and about a million and a half viewers across the two shows. Nothing but a win here for pro wrestling. This is how I look at this.

And yes, the most important thing is the Gallus segment tanking lol.

I fully expected NXT to win, even without them loading the show. Whether it's AEW or WWE, changing nights always hits the ratings. If NXT was bumped to Wednesday, I'd expect the opposite result.

If there's one truth about pro wrestling TV ratings, it's that people seem to get very, very used to shows being on the same night and get thrown off when they're not, so yeah, DVR numbers will be interesting. Otherwise, I'm sure they're pleased the demo was that close. For any talk about Khan's twitter antics, there's every chance it contributed to keeping that close.

Yeah no kidding as I finish up work here soon and have been questioning what the heck I am going to do now on a wednesday night with no Dynamite and South Park not existing anymore basically
