I ask this sincerely: what does Jeff expect them to do? I suspect the answer is that he expects AEW to push the Hardy Boyz as a top tier tag team, DUI's and diminished in ring capability be dammed. |

I said it in another thread, and I'll say it again. At this point in AEW's history, it makes sense to just cut bait with all of the malcontents in the company. If Miro, Andrade, Malakai and, now, the Hardys, think they would be used better in WWE, just let them go prove it.
AEW has so many guys like Ethan Page, Kip Sabian, Angelico, and Lee Moriarty who seldom, if ever, get used that feel like they could easily take those spots if they open up.

Jeff is lucky he still has a job at all. TK would have been completely justified in firing him after his latest DUI.
Also the Hardy’s WERE about to be pushed (including probably winning the tag belts) until Jeff screwed up AGAIN right before said push was meant to start.
He cannot be trusted in big spots anymore.

I was a fan of the Hardys almost from the time I saw them. They did things I never saw before. Team Xtreme was over and it was the last time the tag team wrestling was really a focal point on national TV in the US. We had the Hardy Boyz, the Dudleys, E&C, and some rotating teams.
That was over 20 years ago. They can't wrestle like they used to because of the way they used to wrestle. Every time I see one of them take a stupid bump, I wonder if that is the one where they don't get up and spend the rest of their life in a wheelchair or using a cane. Then you have Jeff's addictions and Matt's enabling of same. Don't even get me started on Reby who seems to enable the enabler.
I'm trying to not sound coarse or uncaring, but their time is gone. I don't think they can even be trusted to be the veterans putting over younger talent. I don't just mean trusted as in going into business for themselves, I mean they can't go anymore or Jeff will f*** up again.
They don't agree? Fine, prove me wrong. Go to WWE (doubtful) or somewhere else and start turning out bangers. I wholeheartedly agree that TK should cut bait with the malcontents and let them all go to ply their trade somewhere else. One of the biggest problems in AEW is the bloated roster, this is a quick and easy partial solution and TK gets to be the babyface.

Of that list, the only one I'd keep is Malakai. House of Black is money and is Malakai even someone who doesn't want to be there? So many wrestlers just don't have the self-awareness to know when their time is up. I swear Matt was saying way back in 2017 when they returned to WWE that is was their final run together. They got a big tag title win at Wrestlemania then had a nice feud and dropped the titles to The Bar. Then all of a sudden it's oh now let's have a final run in AEW. If they get fired from AEW they'll want another final run in WWE or if they don't take them back then a final run in TNA. It'll never be enough. They'll just keep going until people stop booking them. There’s a fine line between guys like Ricky Morton, Billy Gunn and Sting who keep wrestling because they love it and to help out their kids/the next generation and guys like Ric Flair and Matt Hardy who will seemingly curl up and die if they’re not still being booked. Those guys also don't look like they're in constant pain. It can't be said enough, Sting's been a great signing for AEW. Always working with younger guys to make them look good and help them, even doing small shit like exchanging the kicks with Orange Cassidy. |

Tony could tell the entire roster- if you're not happy, if you want out, if you're just running down the clock on your deal- tell me, and I'll leave you out of it, one condition is a no compete clause for the WWE for 60 days or whatever. Just keep the guys who wanna be there, who wanna move AEW forward. |

Usually these kinds of things get the weird tribalists (mostly elsewhere not here) up on arms about how AEW is going out of business and how X wrestler should come back TO WWE and get a world title run or whatever. But from what I've seen even those guys are mostly basically saying "yeah these guys are washed up and Jeff is too unreliable". If they're saying Tony should cut them it's only rarely followed by "so Triple H can hire them back".

Miro doesn't want to play ball? Fine, we have a glut of "monsters" anyway.
Malakai's feelings hurt? Bro, you're not even the most over act in the stable named after you.
Talent like Moxley, Swerve, Daniel Garcia, Christian etc. are proof that you can thrive outside of the WWE as long as you have the ability to bring something good creatively to the table. "I wanna be cool and I want to win a lot" is not how you approach your boss with creative, ask Hardcore Holly.
