I don't post this to continue the trend of negativity that seems to be happening, but more for discussion because like... what was Matt expecting? Both he and Jeff are washed physically, and with Jeff's DUI last year, any chance of the Hardys being seriously pushed went out the window.

Just let their contracts expire. I think they're taking up roster space now.

Matt is 49, Jeff is 46.
What more blood is there to squeeze out of that stone?
If Matt wants to stay in the business, it's time to take an exclusively backstage role.

Both of them have filled out their bump card twice over and both of them are cooked in-ring. They haven't been misused, if anything they've been overpushed considering the best thing they could do is retire in-ring and let Matt be a manager and Jeff to make sculptures out of Tinfoil.

No I agree with Matt, I have been very frustrated every time AEW has used the Hardys

Face it, they're worthless and dead weight at this point in time. They neither add or contribute anything. Their careers are finished.

Matt's a broken down barely mobile husk of a wrestler and Jeff's even worse. The only way they could be better used is if they weren't being used.
Matt might still have some value as a manager but Jeff is completely shot.

Yeah.... Matt has nothing left (not trying to be mean, but his body has been shot to hell) and what little Jeff may have left, he can't be trusted.

I'm sure Matt sees how Edge and Christian are getting booked and is probably envious of it. Jeff kinda washed that away getting into trouble right before they got the tag belts.

This kind of stuff is so clickbaity. The actual quotations are:
"I feel like there is such a great spot for us at AEW if we're just utilized in the correct way and we've just got to get there,"
and
“There's a huge fanbase that wants to see us and we're beloved. Sure, we're not Matt & Jeff Hardy of 1999 and 2000 but there is so much we can do to help young guys continue to come up and also give our rub-off to these young guys, but we just need to be utilized in the right way. And we hope we can get there, we feel like we're taking steps in the correct direction now.”
None of that reads, even remotely, like frustration with AEW. More a tacit acknowledgment that their own issues recently have derailed their career, and that the impetus is on them to prove they still have value to the company/business. He even says he feels they’re “taking steps in the correct direction now.”
But, no, the tweet has to be “Matt Hardy very frustrated with AEW’s use of the Hardys” instead of something like “Matt Hardy hopes to elevate young talent more frequently for AEW,” because anti-AEW headlines grab clicks right now.

I hate to say it because they're legends but what the hell are AEW supposed to do with two guys who are so physically busted down they literally can't wrestle without hurting both themselves and others? And that's not even getting into Jeff's problems with substance abuse that come and go seemingly at the drop of a hat. We complain about AEW using Ric Flair (rightly so) but using the Hardys at this point would be just as irresponsible IMO.

Tbf Hardy won't ever surpass his spot of being drown by Santana and Ortiz and each time coming out with a different gimmick

I think the best spot for them would be tag champions in ROH. They both have history in ROH and a nice short title run would be good for the tag titles credibility. They are also a easy team to take the titles off MJF/Cole and transition them back to ROH TV.
Personally, I think the harby boys being heel champions in ROH would do wonders.

Except Matt isn't beloved. He hasn't been beloved since the "Car Wreck" promo. Matt is one of the most clowned upon wrestlers there is and has been for almost 2 decades, and he's the only one who can't acknowledge it. And I say that as someone who generally likes him (but even I can see he's a bumbling, embarrassing goof).

Both are beyond washed and Jeff blew the last opportunity. Like cmon lol. This goes back to the QT thread, Matt's had multiple ideas put on TV and they all sucked. The tag run, while better now, has been bad. When the Bucks struggled to get a 3 star match out of you, you know it's time to hang it up.

Putting the RoH titles on a team with two members that are absolutely hosed would be an awful idea and would do nothing to elevate the belts. The only title either man should be considered for is if Tony decides to introduce one that is the answer to the Ironman Heavymetal Championship.

Yeah I kind of think that at this very late stage of their careers, Matt is actually more beloved than Jeff. Jeff showing up in AEW, causing Matt to shift back into stuck in the 90s Team Xtreme mode, and then promptly getting another DUI is what has derailed the Hardys AEW run so much. Matt being a goofball with multiple gimmicks who would occasionally become broken was one of the highlights of pandemic era AEW for me. I think he could still have something to offer as a manager/occasional participant in multiman or cinematic matches. But the Hardyz nostalgia act is completely washed and has been for a very long time.
