Jeff gets most of the focus because of his issues but Matt has been washed in the ring for over a decade. 2008 was probably the last year he was a high-quality in-ring guy. Creating the Broken stuff was smart to keep him over without having to wrestle proper matches but even that got old years ago now.
Also, the Young Bucks helped Private Party more in a single night in 2019 than Matt has by working with them for literal years now. They have no rub to give now. When they lose I don't think wow that's a huge win for the other team I just think of course they lost, they can barely move, anyone who loses to them looks terrible.

No I agree with Matt, I have been very frustrated every time AEW has used the Hardys Lol I was thinking I agree with the sentiment but I don't think I agree with Matt's point.

I actually agree. When OC lost the international title he should have joined them to form Team Xtremely tired and did half hearted versions of Hardy offence.

This kind of stuff is so clickbaity. The actual quotations are: "I feel like there is such a great spot for us at AEW if we're just utilized in the correct way and we've just got to get there," and “There's a huge fanbase that wants to see us and we're beloved. Sure, we're not Matt & Jeff Hardy of 1999 and 2000 but there is so much we can do to help young guys continue to come up and also give our rub-off to these young guys, but we just need to be utilized in the right way. And we hope we can get there, we feel like we're taking steps in the correct direction now.” None of that reads, even remotely, like frustration with AEW. More a tacit acknowledgment that their own issues recently have derailed their career, and that the impetus is on them to prove they still have value to the company/business. He even says he feels they’re “taking steps in the correct direction now.” But, no, the tweet has to be “Matt Hardy very frustrated with AEW’s use of the Hardys” instead of something like “Matt Hardy hopes to elevate young talent more frequently for AEW,” because anti-AEW headlines grab clicks right now. I get what Matt is saying, but isn't how they were used Wednesday not an example of what he's talking about? I'm not that into Hardys but was fine with them Wednesday. Got a good pop from crowd, nice 7 minute match which helped elevate a returning young start.

Except Matt isn't beloved. He hasn't been beloved since the "Car Wreck" promo. Matt is one of the most clowned upon wrestlers there is and has been for almost 2 decades, and he's the only one who can't acknowledge it. And I say that as someone who generally likes him (but even I can see he's a bumbling, embarrassing goof). He was a widely beloved figure once the Broken Universe happened.

Jeff's got history with ROH the same way Jackie Gayda has history with WWE Jackie Gayda was a WWE Tag Team Champion? She managed a team that did, at least.

Real mistake was signing Jeff in the first place.
Matt's obviously got a good mind for the business, other than his perception of how The Hardys should be used.
Get him into some backstage role, find something for Jeff to do or let him go back to WWE, and move on.

My idea like 2 years ago was for Jeff Hardy to just be like the 7th man in HFO doing his dance like nothing's weird or wrong about this arrangement at all and I stand behind it.

I don't think the Hardys have anything of substance left to offer. They're both more banged up than Copeland and Christian and neither of them are as good at promos and character work either. I'd be happy to not see another Hardys match.
I don't blame any wrestler for wanting more though and there definitely are still some Hardys fans out there. I don't think that means they should get AEW air time but I don't blame Matt for trying.

The Hardys have to be realistic here. They’re both closing in on 50 years old, having wrestled pretty much non-stop since their mid-late teens (30+ years), a lot of which involved jumping off of high things and falling through things. This career of theirs has put them through the wringer, and they’ve got the scars, gait and police records to prove it. I’m not even sure they’re physically useful as enhancement guys at this point.
They can look at Copeland and Cage all they like, the fact is they didn’t do as much the hardcore stuff after 2001 and also, and this is the important bit, they both spent YEARS out of the ring (Copeland about nine years, Cage six or seven), allowing their bodies to heal up to the point where they could do these comeback runs.

It probably hurts watching Edge and Christian being in the same company and absolutely on a different level - better promos, can actually still go, not broken down husks etc etc.

I'm frustrated that they've been booked as much as they have. Keep their bath salts dancing asses in catering.

The Hardys should put over The Acclaimed, then retire.
