I am really, really worried about where this is going. Harry and Todd did nothing wrong, and I hardly think that the vast majority of people criticizing James actually wanted him dead, they just wanted sincere apologies and a course correction. If this is confirmed, then…god.

I do believe that people should be called out for wrong doing. I also believe that public shaming on the scale that the internet allows is really wild.
In the immediate reaction to the video, the visible reaction was to assume the worst of James in every area of his life. That wasn't Hbomb's intent, he just focused on the YouTube side. But if you dredge the many Reddit threads on the video, the demonizing of James went well beyond that and got very personal.
The audience simply takes the wrong message away from these things 90% of the time.

He seems to at least have been alive as of an hour ago, since about that long ago one of his Twitter accounts was deactivated and there are people saying comments have been getting removed from his videos. Hopefully that's the case.

See, I'm hoping that it's just another massive misstep, like that time Matt Hardy posted something that read like a suicide note and it was just a 'rebranding' of himself as Matt2.0 or something. Which would kind-of tie in to the changing of the name of the channel to "James of Tellos", wouldn't it? |
