...So I used to subscribe to his channel. I legit don't remember much of anything he talked about, aside from his assertion that 70s Hollywood loved gay men. The rest of it? Background noise. Like, I can still rattle off random fun facts from Todd or Wrestling With Wregret videos from 2017, but an essay I watched six months ago? Total blank.
And I'm thrilled that Stop Skeletons from Fighting got some love at the end. Uncle Derek and Producer Grace do some good work. Where else am I going to learn about Resident Evil 4? Or the Zeebo? Or RE4 on the Zeebo?

After watching the whole HBomb and Todd videos tonight, oh boy what a lot of information. I'm glad that light is being shone on this stuff and the harm it can do, and I'm also very glad to see Harris point towards some excellent queer creators who deserve the spotlight instead. Really pleased in particular to see Verity Richie in the list, she deserves appreciation and does content on bisexuality that just isn't usually touched upon.

Also just going to say... I hate the way James Somerton's way of talking. He just comes off as having such a smug, I know better than you manner of speech. I have no emotional stake in this, I only know Todd as a YouTuber and have only watched like 8 minutes of his video, but James Somerton strikes me as one of those people that their entire personality is based upon their sexuality. Yes, and how would you like your steak cooked? Well, I am gay, so obviously I want it medium well. Like the guy with the naked lady mud flaps on his F150 and still subscribes to Maxim magazine for some reason. Or as Doug Stanhope said, "Gay or straight, if I know your sexuality within 30 seconds of meeting you, you're f***ing irritating" Oh hell yeah. I’m a queer dude in a same-sex relationship, and all I can do is thank my lucky stars that my sexual orientation is the least of my problems, and everybody in my personal and professional life knows and doesn’t make it a thing. My main angst is totally mainstream Tony Soprano-esque “whatever happened to Gary Cooper” whining and dissatisfaction that the straights are totally able to relate to. |

Really makes me embarrassed that until I caught on to what an ass he is I enjoyed Internet Historian stuff (though I never watched his older work before he tried to sanitize his image) seeing how his fanbase has for days on end been endlessly screeching about how plagiarism is good actually.

IH's early stuff came off really bad but given how much his later videos entertained me, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he grew out of being an edgelord.
However after looking more into him and now this plagiarism case, f*** him.
