LOL, kinda sad it's likely not gonna happen now because that sounds like a glorious trainwreck in the making. Considering what Hbomberguy brought up about Somerton (never heard of the guy before so it's my only source), I can't help but assume he'd claim Kanyon or Orlando Jordan are only pretending to be queer as a gimmick (especially Jordan since he's bi and clearly Somerton is one one of those guys who think bisexuals don't count, which is probably gonna make him extra-mad that hge's being exposed by a bisexual man; the only way it could be worse for him would be if HBG were a woman). And just to highlight just how low you have to be to straight-up plagiarize and steal content, keep in mind that Chills (of "Number 15 - Burker King foot lettuce" fame) always makes sure to give proper credit for the clips he uses, not only having the channel's name in large font during the entirety of the footage used, but usually naming them out loud during the video itself AND linking to the original videos in the descriptions.
If f'ing Chills, the most famous example of a lazy content farm, knows how to do this shit right and properly credit the people whose work he uses in his own, there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to not meet the standards of GODDAMN CHILLS.

Finished watching the video after coming home from work. God is it satisfying to hear him call out "generative AI" at the end because my God was I thinking the entire time how everything he was criticizing applies to AI stuff, which I why I prefer to refer to AI "art" as AI plagiarism, because that's what it factually is. And as an artist myself and having posted many of my own pieces online, I feel directly targetted by it. For all I know, my work has been fed into those algorithms and being profitted from as we speak without my knowledge or consent.
And they even have their version of the "but I have a list of sources in a Dropbox" bullshit excuse, in the form of "opt-out forms", which is enough to delude some people intot hinking they're making effort to respect copyright, intellectual property and artistic integrity, even though it should be exclusively opt-in, with compensation (and no, "exposure" isn't proper compensation).
Making it opt-out, for starters, implies consent by default, already a shitty mentality that shows that these corporations believe that they are entitled to everyone else's work and are unironically working under the belief of "if it's on the Internet, that means it's free". But on top of that, it puts the burden of protecting the work on the artists, meaning we are seriously expected, every single time we publish a new piece, to scour the Internet for every single f'ing AI website and app, even as new ones keep popping up, to opt out of getting our shit stolen, and hope that these corporations will actually abide by it (spoilers: they won't).

So in entirely unsurprising news turns out people are finding chunks of IH's Cost of Concordia video were plagiarized as well. I fully expect more to come. As HBomberguy showed, Internet Historian has been better at hiding it so he hasn't been caught before, but also as HBomberguy mentioned, if they've done it once, they've probably done it before. |

I just finished this. This has me worried if somebody out there has ripped off any of my youtube videos ( even though I don't know who the hell would want my stuff).
I like how at the end he praises so many other creators. The video's end comes out so positive after it went over so much human garbage.

There are a lot of people on YouTube, and a certain percentage of people are dipshits, therefore, a certain percentage of YouTubers are gonna be dipshits. The vast majority aren't, but there's no point in pointing out people displaying common morals so you don't hear about them. |

I personally am just forever grateful to Harry and Todd for acting fast enough to spare us the Evangelion video. As someone whose first inkling that I might not be 100% straight was watching the Shinji and Kaworu relationship as a teenager, I don’t want to know how James would’ve ruined that for me.
