They obviously have to enforce contracts otherwise they're meaningless, but in some ways the best thing they could do is let these guys go. A lot of people were left WWE for AEW thinking they were about to become main eventers and it hasn't happened. Many are no better off than they were beforehand. This would be a good opportunity to show the reverse is also true - not everyone is going to go back and be a huge deal like Cody/Punk/Jade have.

This isn't exactly news for Malakai. He talked about wanting to get released last year during his mental health spiral and then later said that Tony Khan denying him his release was one of the best things that could've happened when he was in a better mental space. So I don't think it's really fair to include him in the "Former WWE malcontent" list unless something else happened since.

Was gonna say unless something else happened, Tony basically said "take time off deal with what you need to deal with, then we will talk" kind of thing. Aside from that the only thing I've heard is Black has said he only wanted to be Collision exclusive because it gave him more time during the week to see his wife.
