FFS, every god damn time.
There is a ppv or ple or whatever I can watch.. And family organises a catch up on the same f***ing day. Nothing happening the weekend before or after.. Always on during a Big 4 show.
Looks like I was in the clear for the Rumble.. But I just got a message from my dad and sisters that postponed Christmas catch-up will be on.. You guess it the same time as the Rumble..
Gawd dammit.

I mean, obviously I have the luxury (ahem) of the Rumble starting 1am Scotland time, but my family all know that the Royal Rumble is last weekend of January!

I think the final two in the men’s rumble will be Rhodes and Punk. We’ll see.

I imagine if Jade isn't in the Rumble, then they're really taking their time with preparing her for the main roster.

If Kofi Kingston is in this years Rumble. I wonder if they will actually attempt the Kofi Spot despite the last 2 years being fails. If they do they should have someone throw him a fair distance. As he is up in the air he starts to flap his arms where just before his feet touch the floor he relaises he has the ability to fly. He flys around the arena then lands safely on both his feet in the middle of the ring. Kofi Kingston learned Fly. It wasn't very effective

Kofi Kingston learned Fly. It wasn't very effective I think if they want to keep the Imperium feud going with New Day, you have Kofi return at the Rumble and make a b-line for Kaiser and do one of those "he eliminates himself to keep fighting with his opponent" move. That solves the problem of him not being able to do one of those cool spots anymore while still keeping the story going.

You guess it the same time as the Rumble.. Gawd dammit. It's possible to avoid spoilers and start it later in the evening. I did it last year. My significant other was at a concert and wanted to watch the show, so when she got home around midnight, we fired up Peacock ... only to find out that the post-show press conference was ongoing, and that Peacock had yet to upload the live show itself. So we waited, and waited, and waited, and then around 2:30 a.m. we saw that the replay of the Royal Rumble was available ... in Spanish. So we watched the first five or so minutes in Spanish, and then saw that the English-language version had been made available. So we started the Royal Rumble itself probably close to 2:45 a.m. and didn't get to bed until about 6 a.m. Needless to say, our Sunday was shot, but we're glad we gutted it out rather than having it spoiled for us.

Leaving out 88 and 89 since realistically those are the answers as it wasn't this iconic main event thing yet and felt like a bit of a glorified TV battle royal who has been the most shocking Rumble winner? There's never been an absolutely super shocking winner (Santino in 2011 came close) so I guess it's just a case of times when someone who wasn't your main prediction going in won.
In hindsight they had been building Benoit up on TV as a potential winner but at the time I remember being quite shocked that Goldberg didn't win in 04. I was sure they were going to have him win and go after Brock's title at Mania. I guess I hadn't heard the rumors about him leaving the company or Eddie getting the title so soon.
Judging by how shocked I'd have been before the show Cena in 08 is probably the answer since no one expected him to be there but once he did show up he had to win.

Judging by how shocked I'd have been before the show Cena in 08 is probably the answer since no one expected him to be there but once he did show up he had to win. In 1997 all signs clearly pointed to Brett, surprised Stone Cold won. In 1999 all signs pointed to Stone Cold, but I guess McMahon screwing him over isn’t much a surprise. In 2008 it was between Taker and HHH, no one had a clue Cena was coming back. In 2017 no one had a clue, Taker, Brock, and Goldberg were the prominent features. I remember a surprise Samoa Joe debut is what people were hoping for. Instead it was Roman at #30 and at that point everyone thought it would be him. Orton was genuinely a surprise. EDIT: 2017 reminded me of something, I think 1993 was in a similar boat. I don’t think anyone had a clue, Yokozuna was doing squash matches but not billed as a main eventer yet. I don’t recall who was a favorite, if there even was one.

Will this be the year I get my dream Rumble where we don't get a single elimination until all 30 men are in the ring?

So only 4 matches this year? Seth is injured, and the epic entrance for Roman is going to take up at least 10 minutes.

I know there's far less bloodline drama this year, but any chance the fatal four way is the main event instead of one of the rumbles?

I know there's far less bloodline drama this year, but any chance the fatal four way is the main event instead of one of the rumbles? I’d say it is almost guaranteed to be with the looming Rock thing coming. Bums me out though, a rumble match should always end the ppv.

Nice to know in these transitional times for WWE that some things remain the same.
