36. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) 37. Street Fighter (1994) 38. Lightning Jack (1994)For those not familiar, this is a Comedy-Western starring Paul Hogan and a pre-Jerry Maguire Cuba Gooding Jr. YouTube has been recommending it to me ever since I watched Crocodile Dundee. It doesn't look like any kind of official release though, just somebody uploading the movie to their account and nobody felt it was worth a copyright claim. Probably would explain why the closing credits were cut off. For the movie itself, it's nothing special but Hogan is charming enough in it and has good chemistry with Gooding. Over-all, an ok, if forgettable, little film.

32-Mardi Gras Massacre-Blu Ray Sleazy, cheap and gory. Amazing regional gore film made in the late 70s in NOLA.
8.8 EVIL Women out of 10
33-The Blackening-DVD
Not as in your face with the comedy as I expected. So not a Scary Movie/Wayans crapfest. Bit more subtle. 8.5 crossbow bolts out of 10

#98 - Blackberry (Hulu)
*1st Viewing
One of the better true stories in recent memories, expertly dramatizes the highs and lows of a tech craze that had a wild rise and fall. [****]
#99 - The Switch (Paramount+)
*1st Viewing
Bateman and Aniston are the highlights here but I hate when the trope of one character withholding a secret from another is the basis of a movie. Pretty generic as a film too. [**]

32. Judgment Night - Watched this on DVD. I have had an itch to watch this lately. I will admit that despite acknowledging a lot of problems with this film, especially after listening to some podcasts that talked about it. What's weird is how there are people who like and defend it, and then of course, there is the opposite. I know that applies to any film, but even I could tell you that there are issues with the dialogue and pacing. I could also talk the issues with some of the logic, but do people go into movies like this expecting realism and plausibility? I didn't think so.
With that said, I have always enjoyed this film. It's definitely a film I would put on if I have nothing better to do, or if I'm having a bad day. I do admire some of the camerawork this film has. I could see what Stephen Hopkins was trying to do with some of the camera angles and techniques. Also, this film has a legendary soundtrack, which still holds up to this day.

18. Dune Part 1
Odd feelings on this, the old one was this weird thing, this is much more.. I guess standard. Which takes away some magic, but makes the story so much stronger and easier to follow.
Nothing to add about the scope, that's well worn territory, knowing the story in broad strokes, I'm stoked to see where this goes and hope it goes even beyond the other 2 Denis wants to do.

101. Dirty Grandpa (2016) - I enjoyed it, some funny stuff. Female leads are Zoey Deutch and Aubrey Plaza. 102. Drunks (1995) - R.I.P. Richard Lewis. Lots of monologuing from a strong cast.

Anchored by a great performance from Colman Domingo, this is another in a long line of very good movies about the Civil Rights movement. [***½]

37. Street Fighter (1994) 38. Lightning Jack (1994) 39. The X-Files (1998)Latest YouTube movie. Should probably explain my experience with the franchise in general. I watched most of the first season, largely because it was on after (or before?) The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Watched a good chunk of the second season simply because it had become a pop culture phenomenon at that point. After that I caught an episode here and there but was never a regular watcher. What's this mean? It means that while I'm familiar with the basics of the show, its characters, premise, etc., there are gonna be a lot of details, especially in relation to the myth arc, that will be lost on me, so maybe that's effecting my enjoyment. But the movie itself though is surprisingly underwhelming, with an uninteresting and thrown-together feeling story. It's completely carried by the chemistry between Mulder and Scully, although I'm guessing for hardcore fans that's enough for them. Then again, hardcore X-Files fans have probably long since seen this and are not waiting for my opinion on it to check it out.

19. Blazing Saddles
This suffers from me coming to it so late. It's a well made movie with some laugh out loud moments but I've seen similar stuff, even from Brooks which I prefer, and a parody western won't hit as much as when they were still being made, in their downturn but still a cultural force.
As for the "you couldn't make it today".
Yes you could, the whole point was social commentary mixed with genre parody. You can't make a black sheriff in the old west film like this because it's done and various aspects are less relevant. (obviously some are WAY too relevant still)
You want to do a Blazing Saddles now, it'd be a trans person joining a super hero team. THAT's what it'd be now and it could well be made.

55. HELLBOY (2019)Man, Neil Marshall...daggone it, dude. Dog Soldiers is so good and Doomsday was fun. It's a shame this was the big swing movie. This just wasn't any fun to me. 56. GHOSTWATCH (1992)THE DAGGONE BBC DID A FAKE HALLOWEEN BROADCAST THAT PRETENDED TO HAVE A "HAUNTED HOUSE" INVESTIGATION THAT WENT 'SURPRISINGLY WRONG' AND IT'S LEGITIMATELY GREAT. I mean, I can only imagine the people who saw this when it first aired in 1992. 57. LAW ABIDING CITIZEN (2009)Still a weird watch with how much of the movie is like "Man, Gerald Butler is the secret good guy, right?" 58. THE PROPHECY IISo...PlutoTV has all 5 of these films and I watched the first one when I was entirely too young, so I went night-by-night and watched the rest of the series. In the second one, Christopher Walken is seemingly let off the chain to allow for a surprising amount of dark humor with his sidekick Brittney Murphy. 59. THE PROPHECY 3: THE ASCENTChristopher Walken is actually back for this thing but in a much limited capacity because it's the daggone second direct-to-video sequel but he shines in every moment on screen (especially when he's cruising in a car and starts playing a trumpet along with the radio). 60. THE PROPHECY 4: UPRISINGThe first Walken-less sequel kills time with a police procedural main story while a "Self-writing book" b-story is set up to be the main plot in the 5th film. Sean Pertwee carries the film as a dirty cop pulled into a holy war. The film thinks it's really smart with it's reveal of a certain character's identity in the 3rd act. There is an evil angel hopping bodies in this one which probably kept the budget down until it was time to leap into the biggest available star for monologues. {Spoiler}That star is Doug Bradley of Hellraiser fame. Yes, I spoiled it because that reveals who the bad guy is in for the 3rd act. 61. THE PROPHECY 5: FORSAKENKuri Wurher has a book that is self-writing another chapter to Revelations and an evil angel played by TONY TODD is sending a hitman (Jason Scott Lee) to murder her so he can have it for his own. I could be wrong, but it really felt like they thought they'd get a third film for their own trilogy. Too bad for them.

I love how this feels like 100% Yorgos from things as big as the strange concept to every single shot you see. Emma Stone is also fantastic, making for one of the best movies of 2023. [****½]

33. Jungleground (1995) - Watched this on YouTube. I remember having watched some Roddy Piper films on YouTube, particularly the ones with him and Billy Blanks. I remembered seeing this under recommendations and I could have sworn that I had seen it. It turned out that I didn't. However, because I had recently watched "Judgment Night" for the whichever time, I had heard that the plot was similar. I guess I am a sucker for movies with that kind of plot, as well as a sucker for action movies in general.
With that said, I had a feeling what I was getting myself into when I started watching this. It is so low budget. The dialogue is so cheesy that it can be funny. Even I found myself chuckling at some one-liners from Piper. Also, the most clichéd of movie gang members with leather jackets/vests, bandanas, all acting like something out of "The Warriors" or any other B-grade action film from the 1980s or 1990s. However, I did find myself having fun with this. Roddy Piper was convincing as a badass type in this, kind of like how he was in "They Live." I may have to check out some of his other films. It may have been similar to "The Warriors" and "Escape from New York" in some ways, but it was fun in a schlocky sort of way.

38. Lightning Jack (1994) 39. The X-Files (1998) 40. Cabin Boy (1994)This is one of those movies that I've always been curious about, but never curious enough to actually sit down and watch. Now it's on YouTube, so why not? For those not familiar, this movie is credited with destroying Chris Elliott's career. Well, I guess that's not entirely true, he still could regularly get work long after this film, largely due to having a lot of friends in the industry. But nobody would trust him being in charge of anything ever since. There are a few videos on YouTube that tell the history of this movie better then I ever could, I would suggest checking those out if interested. This was a really stupid movie and I just wasn't able to get into it. That said, it did feel like something you'd see on Adult Swim ten years later, so you could say it was ahead of its time.

34-Dorm Daze 2-Unrated DVD
We watched the first one last week or so off Tubi. Thought hey I want this eentire franchise. And got all three unrated for 5 bucks each.
Most of the main cast is back. Now doing a semester of college on a cruise ship.
It's a modern National Lampoon movie so going in you know it is gonna be cheap and dumb. And this one works.

34. Run (1991) - Watched this on YouTube. I had only recently heard of this film. Why didn't I know about this one sooner? I had read that it has Patrick Dempsey and Kelly Preston (RIP) in it and that it was about Patrick Dempsey's character on the run from mobsters. That's pretty much what it was, but I liked the dynamic between Dempsey and Preston, especially since I figured that Preston's character would help Dempsey's character.
It's also short, but I wonder if there were other scenes that were left out that could have been added to the film. It's a fun action thriller that could be used to kill an hour and a half.
