31-Tank-Bootleg Plex server
Betting I am one of the few that remembers this 84 comedy/drama. James Garner is a soon to be retiring Army personal. He owns a Sherman tank. Runs into some trouble with a sheriff deputy that runs a brothel on the side. And this causes the near by mayor to plant drugs on Garner's son.
Using his Sherman Tank James, along with Jennilee Harrison, breaks his son out and hauls ass for the Georgia/Tennessee state line.
Saw this years ago in a theater with my parents and enjoyed it. Don't thinkg I have seen it since renting it sometime in the late 80s. But tonight after dinner we did our weekly movie nigght. Buddy had tossed a DVD rip up on his Plex server and this was a nice way to pass some time.

#91 - The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (Disney+)
*1st Viewing
I think it's a bit long but this is really good and does just what I want from a fantasy epic. [***½]
#92 - Scary Movie 5 (SyFy)
*1st Viewing
Part 4 was really bad but it's a masterpiece compared to part 5. [½*]
#93 - The Bling Ring (Max)
*2nd Viewing
I liked this more the second time around and this might be the best Emma Watson performance ever. [***½]

17. Matilda the Musical
Bed looking forward to seeing this and was a little disappointed. Probably my least favourite adaptation. The girl playing Matilda was fantastic and the ending was a but of a new twist but something about how it was done didn't land.
The stage version is spectacular and the 90s film is one of my favourites so its up against big competition and I hope its just me not being the target audience and kids love it.

#94 - Dune: Part Two (Theater)
*1st Viewing
An absolutely incredible theater-going experience. One of the best sci-fi movies ever made and yet there are some aspects (where Paul/Chani end up and the whole sister saga) I think I'll like even more on multiple viewings. [*****]

34. Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977) 35. Stargate (1994) 36. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)My final 2023 streaming re-watch. Perfect timing too as it just dropped on Max on Tuesday. So, like, around ten years ago, when the DCEU was first starting up, people were talking about potential Aquaman movies. I said the biggest problem with an Aquaman movie is that it would basically just be Thor underwater. I never imagined that the DCEU would prove me so literally and expressly correct. This movie borrows so many plot elements from Thor: Ragnarok that, at times, it feels like a discount store version of it. That said, for a discount store version of Thor: Ragnarok, it's not horrible. It's not all that great either. It's a solid enough two hours, but it does nothing terribly interesting with the Thor template and certainly does nothing to make me want to say "we need more of these". Also, I'm still genuinely not sure if Aquaman actually eats cockroaches or if he was just goofing on Orm.

The "Whoops, been a while" mega update, I suppose:
45. DARK ANGEL (1990) Dolph Lundren plays a rogue, tough guy cop paired with an FBI on a mission to stop an alien who says "I come in peace" before murdering people.
I never knew I needed to hear Dolph shouting "F*** YOU, SPACEMAN!" until I did.
46. FREEWAY (1996) Bizarre Little Red Riding Hood parable with a young Reese Witherspoon playing a white trash Red on the way to stay with his dear Grandma after her mom and stepfather are arrested but she's picked up by Kiefer Sutherland playing Mr. Wolverton (First name isn't Bigbad, though). It's a wild thing, man. Joe Bob showed it as part of his Valentine special.
47. BLACK FRIDAY (2021) A movie that I remember hearing was really "hampered by Covid" which makes sense when you have a Black Friday scene and can't have a horde of customers rushing a building. An ensemble group of toy store workers have to deal with people turned into monsters from a falling comet. Bruce Campbell plays the meek store manager, long whipped by the corporate overlords, which is a fun difference from the type of Bruce you imagine in an S-Mart style set-up.
48. MAIDEN VOYAGE: OCEAN HIJACK (2004) DIE HARD ON A YACHT! STARRING CASPER VAN DIEN! It's a perfectly fine paint-by-number that throws in Dien's son (who he brought on this trip to make up for missing all his son's karate lessons, which will obviously not be involved in anything later on in the film) and the head of security of the boat (a tough lady who can fall in love with Dien throughout the film). The end of the villain isn't quite Gruber-ish, but I got a laugh out of it.
49. ATTACK ON THE QUEEN Autoplayed on Tubi following Maiden Voyage. The President of the USA is on a yacht to discuss things with the President of China and OH NO, TERRORISTS, so now a Secret Service Agent and his brother have to save the day. Barely registered.
50. SHARK HUNTER (2001) RICHARD GRIECO VS. A MEGALODON! Yep, Grieco's parents were eaten when he was younger, so now like a form of Batman, he has become a scientist obsessed with proving the existence of the big old shark and perhaps putting a harpoon deep into its brain. Slow moving with a real "Huh, sure," ending.
51. RAVEN (1996) Burt Reynolds is the leader of "Raven Squad" who are sent to steal a top secret Russian code cracker, but realizing his leaders are going to sell the thing to Iran, Burt decides to take it and instead SELL IT TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER ON THE BLACK MARKET. Therefore, the secret real good guy of the movie steals half the device (you need both for it to work) and plays dead after Burt shoots him in an attempt to get it back. Years later, Good Guy is discovered and both Burt and the Superiors are on the move to get the other half of the device back. Reynolds is essentially a bad guy in this, but the power of his charisma will bend him "anti-hero" by the end of it. Interesting even if the actual Good Guy is a dull as dirt actor who feels like he's reading his lines for the first time in nearly every scene.
52. HARD TIME (1998) The direct-to-TNT movie that Burt Reynolds used his 'pull' following Boogie Nights to get (he actually got a full trilogy that I'll probably watch). Burt plays an older cop who gets jumped while pursing two criminals and soon finds himself under investigation for murdering one of them after his gun is used to shoot them. Lots of weird twists and turns in this one, including a vizarre reveal on who stole money out of a suitcase full of $500,000 cash (they took $190,000 if you're wondering).
53. HELLBOY (2019) Not my bag. Just didn't hit in anyway, shape, or form. I did enjoy the one joke where Hellboy apologizes to a horse he's about to ride.
54. WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE (1987) Rutger Hauer was such a dude in his daggone movies. Gene Simmons plays a mad bomber in this one.

8. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
It was good but not great. Other than Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, the rest of the cast seem like they are just phoning it in. The special effects are both overdone and underdone. There are way too many of them and they just look sort of cheap and cartoonish. The fight scenes are pretty good but the final boss battle was totally lame. So much wasted potential.

30. Blades of Glory - Watched this on Blu-ray. For some reason, I had kind of an itch to watch this. I recall having seen parts of it before, but not the whole thing. I also bought it for cheap at a local gaming store.
Over the years, I have learned that comedy is a very subjective taste. It's not easy to recommend unless a certain film or show is a viewer's preferred style of comedy. I am usually not opposed to what kind of comedy, as long as the film or show appeals to me. I remember this film drew my interests way back when, especially when this was at the time when Will Ferrell was in a lot of films. Some people like him, and some people don't like him. Personally, there are some films of his that I have enjoyed.
I personally thought this film was funny. Yes, it is goofy, but I knew what I was expecting. I also thought Will Ferrell and Jon Heder had amazing chemistry, especially in a lot of scenes when they were bickering. It was also interesting to see some cameos from real figure skaters.

It's like they just redid Thor: The Dark World with a less charismatic Loki. [**]

31. Balls of Fury - Watched this on Max. After watching "Blades of Glory" earlier, I thought I'd watch another sports comedy that happened to have a similar title and also happened to be released the same year (2007). I also recall watching this a long time ago and despite having heard some negativity surrounding this film, I found it to be enjoyable. Does it hold up, or does it live up to the negativity?
Like I have said before, comedy is subjective. So for anybody who didn't like this film, I could understand that. I mean, yes, it is a stupid comedy, but despite what some people may believe, "stupid" doesn't necessarily mean "unfunny." Now I didn't think this was the greatest of comedy of 2007, far from it. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh at some parts. I could see Christopher Walken was having fun playing the villain. I also liked the use of Def Leppard songs on the soundtrack. Also, seeing Maggie Q in a either workout clothes or a cheongsam wasn't so bad, either. I also appreciated how this film parodied kung fu films with a lot of the clichés and some of the over-the-top scenes involving tabletop tennis being done like a martial arts fight scene.
I would call this film underrated. It's not going to appeal to everyone, but I had fun.

36. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) 37. Street Fighter (1994)Latest YouTube movie. This is a stupid movie, but an entertainingly stupid movie, highlighted by some... inspired performances. You know what you're getting into when you watch this, I have nothing to add to that.
