Mania night 1. Cody v Roman. Cody wins the belt leaving Roman devastated with only the Bloodline left.
Mania night 2. Rock v Roman. Rock ends the Bloodline.

Absolutely zero desire to ever see this match, but I am glad they're finally getting this garbage out of their system so maybe this reign can finally end already.

Remember Rock is old, has (excessive, far more than other wrestlers his age) ring rust, and has insurance issues with the studios pitching a fit if he gets hurt. The mania main event has to be a good 25 minutes and so on.
How about at EC it's Rock/Cody v Solo/Reigns (Cody has won the Rumble so Punk or Gunther or Brock or whoever has to earn their shot in an EC match).
Rock and Cody win but post-match Reigns beats the shit out of Rock.
At WM the ref is down and the Bloodline is attacking Cody 3 on 1 (maybe more so, as they hire team Lashley or the Judgement Day or whoever as mercenaries) when all is lost for Cody... IF YOU SMELL... Rock comes down and cleans house and just as the ref conveniently wakes up Cody finishes the story with a crossroads onto a steel chair.
Roman v Rocky happens at the next Saudi show in a 10-minute match which disguises Rock's limitations and the Saudi crowd doesn't care as they are more into the spectacle of the event rather than the matches themselves. Rock wins and that's his last match.

I think the fairest counter I can give, from a point on Twitter, is like…are we really expecting The Rock to travel over a day+ to a part of Australia that’s a struggle to get to to only be watched by a small minority of the Peacock viewing audience (a company that has bragged about viewing figures for shows before) since it’ll be on at around 4am? Or even expecting them to watch around the same time to watch him on a Saudi show?
If you’re getting The Rock in, you sort of would have to do it in front of your biggest audience, which for now is America. You can build the other places with your other talent but especially from what other people have said…not sure if you’re expecting him in particular to do that.

I doubt a final decision has been made yet and there are probably heated discussions going on in the TKO boardroom about whether to do it at EC or WM or a date further along.

The one he can get to pretty easily from where he is or where his main businesses are (Philadelphia) or the one that he has to work to get to and may interrupt other things (the other ones)?

All we’re going on here is varying shades of scuttlebutt. Legitimate general news sites in my country had been reporting that the Western Australians were trying to get Rock for that show, and they have a sneaky big chequebook to play with. Might’ve been an offer too big to refuse. There’s been the constant situation of trying to get this match off the ground for a WrestleMania, to the point where Rock claims there was a pitch made for WM39 but they didn’t go any further. Not to mention the fact that there are filming schedules and obligations with his football league… It’s all up in the air for everyone. Multiple outcomes in play for Reigns, Rock AND Rhodes. And another thing… I’m not normally a “Pick on the news reporter” guy, but I’m kinda really disappointed in Sean Ross Sapp here, because he’s really been stirring up the “Cody’s eating a shit sandwich” hornet’s nest since Rock appeared. Like, either say what you know about this or shut up and stop feeding the discourse.

Oh, all of that is true. Again, if they’ve figured a problem that Vince couldn’t even solve, I’ll gladly eat my words. And hey, also not my problem to solve either. As someone else said, I imagine this is being thrown around the TKO board room right now because even if WWE doesn’t need it, they desperately need a win going into this year so it needs to make sense for all involved.

I'm a big fan of Rock, he's one of my all-time favourites, but I've had no interest in seeing him in a match in about 10 years. I would be hugely disappointed in him if he's the one to end Roman's reign instead of Cody (or even Punk, who's going to be around to defend a title)

I think it's likely the match is happening when it is simply because that's the only time in the next year or three the Rock has free. These things take a real amount of time. It's not like "I have 3 days off so let's make it happen." It's much more involved.

They should have Rock vs. Roman at Wrestlemania. It is too big to not be. It doesn't necessarily have to be for the title, though. To finish his story, Cody doesn't need to win it at Wrestlemania or beat Roman, he just needs to win the world belt with the lineage at some point.

It seems like it will happen at Elimination Chamber, I hope so just to get it out of the way already so Cody can win the title from Roman at Mania 40.

I don’t know why everyone is automatically assuming the Rock would win. I can see him actually wanting to put Roman over at Wrestlemania and it could lead to Cody finally dethroning Roman at Summerslam.
Either way, great moment. And hey, I thought Jinder was really good here as well.

My last point about it possibly happening at ‘Mania, which I’m sure TKO has on their mind.
The UFL debuts March 30th, the day of the Go Home Smackdown for WrestleMania, both will air on FOX. Now, FOX did axe Smackdown but they also know they’ll be keeping them and don’t want a Spike TV situation where both sides get in a pissing match for months afterwards out of pettiness.
So FOX airs the first UFL game, Roman cuts a promo on Smackdown calling Rock a coward for not showing up and taking his priorities, which makes him not worthy to be Tribal Chief, Rock shows up and they brawl to end the show. FOX makes it a bumper day, you get Rock involved in ‘Mania and a possibly of Roman addressing Rock after the UFL debut is something you can hype up during the actual game. Win/Win/Win.
My honest view is do it at EC if possible, get it out of your system and pivot to Cody finishing the story. You get your big match, you make the B shows mean something and you get the outcome that should have happened last year but didn’t probably because they were waiting for this guy to be free.
EDIT: Scratch all of that, March 30th is a Saturday, Night 1 of WM so that makes a case that you can’t do the match that time since Dwayne kind of has to be at opening day of the UFL. Super weird if he wasn’t.

If this match happens at Mania it is nothing short of Cody just being unceremoniously tossed aside IMO.
But also this is starting to feel all too familiar in ways to when Punk defended against Rock...Rock won the title and went onto face Cena and Punk was completely shut out of the main event.
