You know Cody went to Punk's locker room with a box of muffins and said "Why don't they want me man?"

One reason they might do it at EC is Australia has a larger Pacific Island diaspora than Philadelphia (probably) so there might be more local hype. (Or maybe Dave wasn't reading that spreadsheet wrong, the denials were cope and they figured they really need to sell out to save face).

This whole Reigns/Rock/Rhodes thing is nearing name change wager territory. Shoutouts to the disaster of an Adam Page wager we had where dude wasn't even on the show cause he just had a baby and half the people didn't wanna change their names cause they just got owned by a baby

I did not expect this so soon! Everything lies on Rock's level of commitment.
I think ideally, Roman drops the belt to Rock at WM40, but before this happens (likely in AUS) you do some sort of tag match where Solo pins The Rock. This can later be used as a schism to finally break away Solo from Roman, since Solo got the job done but the so-called Head of the Table didn't. If Rock's schedule allows, he beats the ultimate bad guy in Roman, reclaiming his chair and ending the reign, puts over Solo on the way there, and ultimately puts over Cody either in London or at SummerSlam. I feel like Cody beating The Rock is a good trade-off to repeating the WM39 match. Or, maybe internally Rock doesn't feel confident about doing a 1-on-1 and they just wrap it all up at WM with a triple threat with Cody.
I feel like whatever the option, Cody is gonna benefit huge. I would love to see a random Rock/Rey/Dom triple threat title defense in-between since he always wanted to work with Rey, but I ain't holding out hope for that one.

They have to book it at EC because I truly believe a large percentage of fans at Mania could end up booing and chant for Cody in protest. Almost like a Brock/Goldberg, which coincidentally was 20 years ago.

This whole Reigns/Rock/Rhodes thing is nearing name change wager territory. Really? Now, would possible wagers be negated by something terrible happening like an injury, alien invasion, a Fozzy concert breaking out somehow leading to an evacuation?

Damn, poor Cody potentially. Hopefully, however this goes down if it does, things go well. I just hope the Rock isn't the one to finally get the win over Roman.

Maybe I’m missing something, but this seems pretty clearly telegraphing that Roman beats the Rock, paving the way for Cody to slay the *ultimate* dragon at Wrestlemania.
Vince is gone. Dunn is gone. And HHH knows that making the Rock the true head of the table as the ending to four year long story makes zero business sense.
I’d put money on Roman not only beating the Rock, but *destroying* the Rock in a short, sweet squash.

I’d put money on Roman not only beating the Rock, but *destroying* the Rock in a short, sweet squash. I would definitely NOT do that for a Main Event in front of a crowd of potentially 70,000 people unless you want a riot...

They are absolutely not bringing the Rock back, most likely to an event that will probably only sell out because he’s there, to have Roman squash him.

I may be wrong, but I thought that Elimination Chamber was already sold out before the Rock was even a factor.

I may be wrong, but I thought that Elimination Chamber was already sold out before the Rock was even a factor. The numbers aren’t terrible (although there were rumors they were struggling) but they aren’t sold out. The location is the problem more than anything else - it’s in one of the most remote and expensive to get to cities in the world. Let alone factoring in the cost of a ticket to the show.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, probably best not to end that show with the short, sweet squash.
