This should strengthen his chances of winning the titles from Roman in April, if they meet. I'm thinking the exact opposite: now that he's locked in why wouldn't WWE f*** on him? And if Cody's not a belt mark, then a big wad of cash might make him think less of a Wrestlemania win. Damn. |

It's interesting that almost 24 hours later I still don't think your Fightfuls or Wrestling Observers have reported whether this is happening at EC, Mania or if it's just a tease not leading to anything right away, which leads me to believe they don't have the sources to confirm anything yet. The Boozer guy on Twitter is the only one straight up saying it would be EC and was saying that even before Rock showed up but he's not reliable enough that I would completely bank on it. Honestly, I don't think a single person in WWE or TKO knows right now. And I also don't think negotiations are over with either getting the Rock to Perth (if reports are to be believed that they want him) or to follow through with the idea of it being at WrestleMania (especially since Rock used his NBC show to basically platform for it. Not that it means everything but it's still a factor). Maybe Thursday will give more clarification or maybe we'll be waiting for another couple of weeks for everyone to figure it out. As I said, TKO needs a win right now so they don't want to feel like they made the "wrong choice" as it will. |

I’d still be surprised if they did it at Elimination Chamber, I can see them delaying the Cody coronation until Mania 41 as boring as another year of Reigns sounds.
I’m definitely pleased it looks like it’s happening though. There’s not enough dream matches left not to be.

Didn't Perth pay a lot more money for Elimination Chamber than Puerto Rico for Backlash? And why would they ask for someone who would be very unlikely to appear.
Cody (After beating Nakamura) sees what's going on and announces that he has to win The Royal Rumble to get his shot at Roman.
You could do Rock V Roman, Night 1 of WrestleMania and Cody VS Roman on Night 2.
If it's only Rock VS Roman at Mania, then Roman has to lose it at another event that year (No more of this he can only lose it at Mania) possibly do Roman VS Cody at the next Saudi show.
Would fan tolerance fade if it's going into another year.
Then again all this would be moot if they actually did the easy logical thing which was Cody actually won at WM 39

Hi all I'm more of a lurker than a poster and I hope I don't come off as too aggressive but the facts of the matter are this.
Cody is gonna have to sit this one out. Maybe he ends his story against Roman or maybe not, but if he's available, there's only one option (and imo only one outcome) to main event Wrestlemania and that is The Rock vs. Roman Reigns for the title (with Roman winning)
