Yeah Mark, and then you would have been fired and charged with assaulting a woman, you f***ing idiot. The problem with people like him, Bully Ray and other "old school" wrestlers is that they excuse this because they went through shitty environments where being an asshole and trying to sabotage your peers was seen as a good thing. They had to go through people like Vince being volatile at work, constantly trying to please a guy that didn't know what he wanted while dealing with unnecessary nonsense as "paying dues" or "respecting the business" and see people who can't "keep up the pace" as people with a skill issue. They dealt with Vince's bullshit for years so they might see people who aren't eager to take the abuse with resentment. They might see it as "I took the punishment and I dealt with it, why can't you?" or stuff like that. Or less charitably : "Why do I have to get abused, but you don't? Why was it OK to do it to me when it's not OK to do it to you? Why am I so much worse that's it's OK to do horrible things to me, but not to others?"

Meanwhile, he was on Busted Open this morning with no consequences or even mention while Dreamer was suspended for his remarks on the Plane Ride From Hell episode.

Dreamer worked for TNA at the time, while Henry currently works for WWE. Guess which company Busted Open doesn't want to piss off and wants to continue to have access to its stars to come on their show?

A lot of these "tough" guys are just trying to normalize what happened to them instead of dealing with what happened to them.

The WWE hired Mizark again!? LMAO why? They haven’t rehired him, but as a free agent they had him make an appearance in the crowd at the last TV loop in Texas. They did hire his son, though. Is this an Odyssy Jones reference, or did they actually hire Henry's kid?

There is such a weird irony that the WWE is currently what VKM always wanted it to be, but it took him leaving to get there.
Well each boom period has been tied to the culture at hand, and its hard to compare the popularity in these different media spheres of the late 80's, late 90's and today, the WWE has really never been more mainstream or accepted. It's regularly mentioned on ESPN and is generally accepted as a mainstream form of entertainment.

I just find it so ironic that the last two boom periods happened after Vince’s out of touch ideas stopped.

So clearly there's a lot of people here who don't pay any attention to AEW. If you did, and you'd been following Henry's time there, well - this may be substantially worse than anything he's said before, but he's made it pretty obvious that he's an old school koolaid drinker.
He was brought into AEW to be a locker room disciplinarian. Turned out he basically wanted old school hazing and Wrestler's Court to still be a thing. And there was plenty of misogynistic and anti-cruiserweight drivel. By the end of his contract, AEW were pretty much paying Mark to stay at home and keep his mouth shut so that his contract could run out and his departure would cause minimal waves. Really, I'm astonished he hasn't been making the rounds on the anti-AEW grifter circuit.
He's also been caught lying about a lot of the backstage incidents during his time in WWE. I don't mean 'he said something and someone else contradicted it', I mean telling stories about soandso doing suchandsuch when soandso was in a different company at the time.
Basically, I guess I'm trying to say I'm shocked that he was stupid enough to say it, but not at all shocked that that's what he thinks.
And f*** him.

To his credit, he did a lot of community work and helped enhance that effort more which makes his recent comments a great way of doing a number to wreck that goodwill.

Hopefully people take Lios side of the Mark Henry thing now. That whole stance was just weird and bizarre. I think it didn't help that Lio Rush was the victim since he had a bad rep back then.

Remember that Vince Netflix documentary by Bill Simmons that Bill said was still happening but may be changed because of recent events?
Guess what’s coming out this time next month?

Feel like you would've gotten the best version of this documentary when he's dead. Still curious to see what it looks like
