Sure, but that isnt the story. The story they want is Vince, not the family or the history. I would be very surprised to see the start of this documentary doing much more than the general narrative. The focus will be Vince coming in and Vince taking over, I expect anyway. You dont have as much of a story of 'Vince the genius' if you deny that genius from the offset - even if that may be the truth. I think they'll tear him down at the end, not right from the start. Granted I could be wrong and this may take the more truthful, accurate and in depth look - but just going from the trailer and title the focus seems to be Vince and before you tear him down, you need to build him up. So I just dont see them attacking the biggest accomplishment right off the bat by making that story less McMahon focussed. That isn't to say we wont hear about his dad and granddad, I just think the focus will be Vince, not the company, if that makes sense. "The whole foundation of this guy's claims he's a genius were bullshit anyway" is absolutely a part of the story. The self-made man who got a loan from daddy, the guy who saw history as something to control as much as everything else. The focus doesn't need to be the family or the history; five minutes going in to debunking Vince's self-made myth is not taking away from the story, and it'd only serve to further deepen the levels of shittiness going on. Exposing the emperor for having no clothes is such a dead basic documentary move. Maybe it comes late in the six episodes for dramatic effect, but I don't think it's contradictory at all. He still built so much himself, pointing out that his lies start from ground zero doesn't take away from that, it just exposes another layer of his scumbasggery. "Print the rapist's lies so the rapist sounds better" is kind of nonsense. I fully expect them to tear him apart, I just dont get the sense from the trailer it's going to destroy from the start. I feel like we're going to get the same story we've had before, the idea that he 'turned evil' once he was in charge of everything and beat everyone. That feels like the more mainstream story they'll go with, I'm not expecting anything we haven't seen before really. EDIT: I replied to this before reading the new news. If it going for a 'Double shovel burial' perhaps they will go in hard from the start. Now I'm even more looking forward to it to see how they do it, what they address and how they narratively structure it.

As if Disco Inferno wasn't a big enough asshole when he proved himself to be a Schrodinger's douchebag earlier this week...
F*** Disco Inferno. He's nothing more than a sentient used colostomy bag.

Damn so Tony Atlas got groped by Pat Patterson and he implies that Vince would not have cared. This seems to be the umpteetnth story on Pat that we heard about him being a sexual deviant

At this point it's just easier to highlight the wrestlers who DON'T continue to defend Vince in some way. Which is super distressing and tiring. Makes me really disappointed in a lot of people and makes me wish they had a shred of empathy towards victims of abuse. I wish someone like Mick would look inward and ask himself if he'd reserve judgement for Vince still if it was Noelle that had come forward instead with these allegations.

Mick Foley IS very brain damaged. And, wasn't he an ambassador for RAINN? Don't think Tori Amos would be happy about this. (Shit, apparently they're a bit dodgy too looking through that link)

Here's some more of the Foley quote:
"I feel really bad that someone I care about got into something that seems pretty unsavory. I’m gonna hold off judgment until I see the… but I think one thing that’s fortunate is whatever he did or did not do, I don’t think many of us are allowing that to mess with our memories. He was instrumental in creating some of those memories. So, I’m choosing to appreciate him until I learn more about what may have gone down."
The one thing I'd caution is that...a lot of these guys were likely brainwashed by Vince and being able to accept that someone who was good to you is actually really, really bad can take some time. Foley's very active with organizations like RAINN and otherwise seems like a mostly good person. For better or worse, I wonder how people will change their tune if this goes from a civil case to a criminal case.

For better or worse, I wonder how people will change their tune if this goes from a civil case to a criminal case. For as much as I say that these people should likely say “No comment” or at the very least “I hope those affected are able to heal”, one of the reasons Vince got away with so much and was so regarded was because he manipulated a lot of people and told them what they wanted to hear even if he did literally none of what he said he would do for them. Like, people have struggled through long term healthcare issues and even died believing Vince was someone who had their best interest because he paid them a lot for a period of time. Like, the fact people still regard him even now is both that manipulation and the culture that, honestly, is still in the company now even if they don’t want to admit it. Especially since that would be admitting publicly there was a problem in the first place as the case goes forward.

It's easy to fall in to the trap of like, "Well he's under federal investigation" or "Maybe they didn't read the allegations in the Grant lawsuit", to see what's going on here as people being cautious about trying to deal with learning the man they respected was a sex creep, but like. Rita Chatterton accused Vince decades ago. The exploitative and sometimes retributive treatment of women on television happened during a time Foley was a full time talent. He spent a length of his booking going on what some felt was a bit too much paternalistic weirdness toward women he worked with. Women who have publicly stated their discomfort at having to make out with their boss in front of a camera or who were themselves abused by Vince or by others in the company. Frankly, I think a lot of people have been turning a blind eye to these things from the very start. Vince did not magically turn evil one day, he's been like this, and for people to have lived in that environment and not be able to connect the dots, to me, speaks of willfully disconnecting themselves from reality. Mick saw nothing then and Mick refuses to see things now, and it's patterns of behavior that set in long before the dementia did.
Yes, loyalty to Vince has been baked into these peoples' minds, yes they too are victims of a manipulator, but at some point people are doing this at their own expense. Vince has never been a good guy and these people knew it firsthand. Saw it play out again and again. To see and live through all Vince is capable of, to be there for the behaviors that were him publicly power fantasy-ing the misdeeds did behind closed doors, and to still think "Gosh I dunno I need to see proof" is willful.

You can seriously count on one hand the number of former wrestlers from WWF who have condemned Vince and haven't pulled any punches when it comes to him. And that is absolutely disheartening and disgusting.

Rita Chatterton accused Vince decades ago.. Just to add to your point, not only did Rita accuse Vince of sexual assault, she sued him two years ago and they only settled last January. Like, there was enough of a case for the lawyers to throw in the towel and give her lots of money. And the only reason the Grant case hasn’t been settled the same way is a) her lawyer’s made it clear they won’t accept a settlement and b) the government literally told her to pause the case. The same government that just today indicted Diddy on the same charges Vince potentially has. Like, you can’t even say these people expect a payday from Vince because he’s not there anymore. No McMahon is. It’s Disney after Roy Disney left the company.
