What Wrestlers did you notice put no effort into their ring gear on there way out of a promotion
Bam Bam Bigelow In his late WCW Run where he wore just black tights and a black shirt a far cry from the cool outfits he used to wear Dudleys in 2004 WWE the last appearance they are just wearing plain black pants and generic shirts Ryback in the plain Black Tights

I wonder some of Bam Bam might have felt the fire look was getting to look dated by like 2000. Maybe to a degree, but it also had a lot of personality.

Mick Foley, I believe, is the answer to this. Sweatpants, sneakers and whatever t-shirt under a flannel.

Mick Foley, I believe, is the answer to this. Sweatpants, sneakers and whatever t-shirt under a flannel. From all the stories, that was literally just the clothing he arrived in

I was a big fan of Kaitlyn, but this is literally just what every 25 year old was wearing at the time

Bam Bam's character struck me as a the big heavy type. The sort of guys who shake dudes down for debts owed or works as a bouncer at some bar. Those clothes wouldn't be a far stretch for someone like him in the grittier Attitude Era. The flames are iconic but I can see where they were passe by 1999.

Well, he was once a bounty hunter before wrestling.

You could always tell when Hercules was getting stale by how kept his hair was. In the summer of 1990 before the heel turn, his hair always looked messed up. And in 1992 before he quit, it started getting really long.
Also, towards the end of his run Akeem started wearing red boots with his Blue and Yellow outfit. Didn't work at all. He looked like Napa Auto Parts sign.

Mick Foley, I believe, is the answer to this. Sweatpants, sneakers and whatever t-shirt under a flannel. Foley is almost the inverse. The more successful and iconic he got, the less he invested in his gear. He gradually shaped his image to support his notorious penny-pinching.

Christian in 2010-2012 . no matter the situation he always dressed boring generic black tights with some logos and WWE commercial t-shirt . It was a shame because he had the best gear in 2004-2005

I wonder if Bigelow dropped the flames since he suffered third degree burns rescuing kids from a house fire and didnt want to be reminded of fire.

Russo was making everybody wrestle in street clothes, that's how you got Hogan in his terrible "FUNB" gear. This I think is just an outgrowth of that

I was a big fan of Kaitlyn, but this is literally just what every 25 year old was wearing at the time Nothing to do with the gear and I know it made her stand out…but, her hair was so awful during her run.

likely wrong, but i always assumed that Bam Bam lost weight and the flame suit just didn't fit right anymore.

I think he also started wrestling in the sneakers because it was easier on his knees than wrestling in his boots was.
