f*** it. Go ahead and slam me. Stop shaming the OP. He took something he saw and posted it. His "doom and gloom" line was making fun of the hyperbole people display about AEW. He hasn't slammed the company in anyway and even said Meltzer sounded vaugue in his comments. Why alienate somebody who doesn't deserve it? Click on their profile. Click on 'view this member's recent threads' It's not that hard to educate yourself

When you cherry pick parts of a story to post to try and elicit a reaction, that is trolling. Posting false or incomplete info and blaming the outlet or author because it paints a picture that you can use to drive a narrative that isn't true isn't acceptable. Now I am not sure that is what OP it's trying to do here as obviously they just grabbed something they saw off another social media site judging by the use of hashtags and formatting. That is a problem though as it makes the journalist they are using look incorrect and/or agenda driven when that isn't the case. This is why we say post your[/I][/u] source, not the claimed source. The source here isn't WON, it's whatever X user he got it from. Even then saying it is from WON doesn't mean much since a lot of what people post from there is just Meltzer rambling on the podcast about why he believes something is occuting, not actual reporting. That deserves to be called out because it contributes to this bullshit tribalism culture we've got going on.

Kinda can't work out when Meltzer's having a dig or not now. He's replied to someone on social media praising the catalogue of dream matches Danielson is having and he's compared it to WCW in 1998 having great matches that didn't draw but are remembered as the glory days. Could be him saying it's a shame that people aren't appreciating great stuff while it's actually happening (and they aren't, if AEW were to go away I think people will look back and realise how much better these years have been for mainstream wrestling than any other, the match quality, consistency on TV and particularly PPV at the very top level and strength of the roster is absolutely off the scale)) but just sounds like another dig to me with the way he and Alvarez talk about WCW. It's why it's hard to say he's "just reporting news" with the stuff in the first post, don't doubt it's something he heard but he just seems so keen to stick the boot in whenever he can

They're also going to some smaller markets in the upcoming weeks like Huntsville IL and Tulsa OK, but they're likely not going to see a huge turnaround on the live draws until later, I imagine that's gonna be a slower curve plus the economy right now being a bit shit. Economy has been good actually in the US. The small markets could be part of the upcoming slow advances . Wall Street =/= The Economy.

Yeah but there’s a difference between saying “we need more to the story,” and “this guys is just an anti-AEW gimmick poster, and camapigning for others to ignore him” I feel for someone who claims to not watch AEW, you hang around here a lot trying to act like a pseudo mod in a lot of the hot topic threads

And yeah, I like to stick up for people who I feel get unfairly vilified. Things get to one-sided for no reason. Challenging opinions is one thing. Hell I took a lot of heat in WWE last month, and you know what? I understood the dissention with my opinions. But going after a poster who has never insulted or talked down another one personally? Never cool. Mods understandably don't see everything and that shouldn't give any of us the right to talk down to one another. If that makes me a bad guy, I can live with that.

Ok, I still find it odd either way being loud about not watching the product and then showing up in these threads almost ALL the time. It doesn't make you a bad guy but you do know there is a report post function and its probably easier to just use that function instead trying to be the pseudo mod?

I'm going to start a newsletter and my first story is about my frustration with the frustration stories.
Can I have $5 a month, please? If I pretend to be an economist and ratings expert, I'll bump it up to $10.

You see that's a counter point I can understand. I like seeing what's up because I want a level head on things and want an objective take on thing even if I don't watch it. Like I want to know who people are if that makes sense, Even if it's not my thing. (I never post in a live thread bc I don't watch the shows.) And as ALL THE TIME, well I just feel like there's hot button threads that bring out the worst in people. I rarely chime in "to police" if its all strictly opinion based

Lol I've never seen people get so defensive over a wrestling company, it's why I only lurk and very rarely engage in AEW chat on the internet.
Apparently you have to be an AEW fan in order to discuss it, otherwise you're seemingly in bad faith, and you're "anti-AEW" or a WWE stan or whatever.
It's been an attitude that's existed since AEW started and I've never seen it with any other wrestling promotion. But I find it both funny and obnoxious.

Personally I don't think it is like that, however when the same few people only show up in threads that are negative about AEW a trend is noticed

TNA Mecca was infamous for a reason. AEW fans are super tame compared to them. ROHBots was a long running term for ROH fans for a reason. Hell, CZW at one point had a rabid base. It's not just AEW; it's pretty much any challenger to WWE. And lets be real, WWE fosters that divide more than anyone, even without Vince. It's one of the many ways of making the entire wrestling world "niche" and themselves the main product.

It's one of the many ways of making the entire wrestling world "niche" and themselves the main product. TNA Mecca is so insanely infamous for how its community handled criticism of TNA--a show that, it bears repeating, was TNA--that it overshadows the fact the owner faked his own death and then returned as his non-fan brother to keep posting anyway. In any other galaxy, that'd be the shit that lives on about it.
