These ratings threads are always just the same two or three people going “nuh uh!” “yeah huh!” for multiple pages. Which is basically the AEW board in a nutshell. They’ve definitely cooled down a bit but not even close to the point where they need to hit the panic button. It’s an entertaining, successful alternative to WWE. No reason to see it as anything more or less. It's life imitating art: AEW wrestlers love the yay-boo spot, and we can't help ourselves but repeat it in conversation. *braces to receive a long-winded message taken to my face*

It's not an aew problem, it's a Nielsen problem. Brother, jack, dude. You gave me trust issues get in the Kevin Kelly thread at onceI don't feel like I can. It got weird when I got PM's from board member(s) asking to trade pictures of a bare ass heavy metal Van Hammer and an alleged gentleman Chris Adams sauna video with towel slip.

So were you being asked if you had such content? Or whether you wanted such content? Or both? AEW ratings threads are a lot like pictures of a bare ass heavy metal Van Hammer and an alleged gentleman Chris Adams sauna video with towel slip: you know exactly what you're going to get.

At very least the main event gained ratings it seems.

*Sigh* “Netflix said Raw did 45 million in weekly viewers! Dynamite only did 35 million on Max! It couldn’t beat House of the Dragon!” Looking forward to that. I've got a really, really fun fact that absolutely is going to make your life so much worse: Zack Snyder admitted that when Netflix does give viewership numbers of any kind, they always count any screen as two different viewers. Get ready. What it means by screen? Like if I open multiple tabs or if I open on my tv and cellphone?

Netflix limits you by the number of screens you even have on your account (you need to pay more for more simultaneous devices), but any device that is watching Netflix, Netflix considers to be two people.

All streaming figures are nonsense, but Netflix's are even more nonsense than anyone else's. You're going to get AEW's 800k being directly compared to 700 Morbillion views on Netflix.
Hopefully AEW gets on Max at some point so we can have Netflix and Max trying to out stupid each other with their numbers. If we're going to have ratings discussion, let's at least make it funny.

Weirdly, the only streaming service that has about as honest viewership numbers as possible is Paramount Plus since they let themselves be tracked by Nielson. Outside of that, yeah, none of them have any interest in actually having honest numbers.

We never got the EC3 and Kevin Kelly info from him did we? It's the new "MVP attacked Triple H with a screwdriver"/"Christian's Malaysian slaves" until proven otherwise.

I don't know how to interpret ratings anymore. I wish there were some system where it would tell you basically how much over or under the average rating is for the week/month/year or whatever it is.

AEW's doing okay in the ratings - not near WWE levels currently, but enough to keep a TV deal with their current partners and to keep the company as a whole viable. The solution to the ratings is simple - grow the audience, expand the audience and don't try too hard to pander to the lowest common denominator.
Tony Khan needs a booking team to keep all his plates in the air and keep the in-ring talent interested. He may also need to tour more regularly to get more eyes on the product. With the sheer size of his roster, he could easily run two circuits. It'd be like WWF in the 80s again - seeing stuff live and canon every 6 to 8 weeks is far better than sitting on one's hands when the company deigns to send you its C roster once a year.

I don't think there's a ton of value in going week by week, but Wrestlenomics do a useful year-on-year chart for all the main shows (bar Collision) for each quarter. twitter.com/wrestlenomics/status/1768393297083445342?t=yvdDB5J2T3l8H_7DFOvUcA&s=19

While the ratings are not as bad as what people on Twitter want to make it seem. AEW has to find that angle, storyline or something to get them hot. We past the well sign a big free agent and that will be it. They should have higher ratings than they do and attendance like last night should be a regular thing. Example Okada shouldn't had a match on Collison. They gave fans 24 hrs to go by tickets since they next day tapped it. Not sure the reason why they needed to tape Collison on a Thursday. Okada should have a video or something to make the match and have more hype. That would increased the interest you think.
CM Punk drew because of a long layoff. The ride after what because the stuff was so good. Like MJF and Punk was some of the best angle worked. They need to find that kind of creativeness. What hurts AEW more is the bad rep from the backstage drama and ext. That may have turns fans away.

That Netflix thing is absolutely goddamn insane. Yes, there'll be people who are watching things in groups of more than two people to offset it a bit, but it's certainly not going to be anywhere close to the same amount of streams that are someone watching alone.
